2022 Cobra Forged Tec X irons and Wilson Dynapower Forged Questions

Hello,

First the latter in the subject, has anyone hit the new Wilson Dynapower forged irons and can compare them to the D9 Forged irons? Thoughts on both? I have demoed the D9F and have a set as backup but was wondering about the new model?

Next the Cobra FTX irons. I have demoed and love these irons. I "heard" that Cobra is going to carry them through the fall. Should I purchase these now or wait to see what comes? I wouldn't have the money at this point or my wife's approval to swap them out for a new model that soon. I was wondering people's thoughts, recommendations and any insight.

Fortunately (or not) cobra irons can be had for pretty cheap. The FT X irons can be bought for $450 or so a set so thats probably the way to go.

I hit the FTX last year and loved them, actually just got a set yesterday for $550 4-PW. Ebay has them mostly in the $700 range. I hit the Dynapower last year at a Wilson demo and was very impressed with it - with all of the Wilson line really, I hit the Forged and CB in the same setting and all were outstanding. Any "gap" that Wilson might have had in club quality in the past is definitely closed and had it not been for the FTX I likely would gone in for a full Wilson fitting and purchase.

I'm biased, but I love my FTs (not the X though) - definitely give them a shot. At like @third-times-a-charm, can be found for a good deal if you go used.

THANKS for the great input! Much appreciated! I love the Forged Tec and FT X irons. Ahead of their time IMO. I found the FT X are better for me with my slower swing speed/bad back/illnesses as I obtain better distance. Great feel in both. Can I ask where you have purchased or found them for so cheap? As stated the Bay has them for around $700. I hit the D9 Forged and have a set but heard the new forged is better...no demos yet. If I go with the Cobras, and likely will, my wife wants me to sell the D9F irons.

Call Callaway Preowned and ask a phone sales rep if theres any sets in stock for 25% off. I believe there might still be. They are not listed on the website.

Thanks!! I called Callaway Preowned and they had one set 5-GW in graphite, which is what I wanted. I will just reshaft and regrip when they come. Better deal than the Bay for sure!

D9Forged put my trusty ISI BeNi 4-L into a well deserved retirement. Such great irons. I’m curious to test the new forged DynaPowers. They look very similar to my D9F.

They are very similar to the D9F. My fitter friend said that the DynaPower Forged are better though and he likes the D9F. He is not into the marketing hype either even for the brand he is affiliated with.
