Modern shaft replacement for Ping KT

I am refurbishing my Ping Zing Lob wedge. The stock shaft was the KT (not KT-M). Does anyone have an idea of its modern day equivalents? I understood that it was a 108 gram shaft but I could be wrong. I will probably move on from the rebar to something softer as well.

You might want to pull the shaft, strip off the grip, then weigh the shaft. Shaft weight is the key thing, far more so than flex profile. Just off the top of my head, maybe a Nippon 105R? Assuming your 108 estimate is correct.

BTW, that Zing wedge of yours is one of the most awesome farm implements ever created by Ping. True believers bow down! Vokey lovers run for the hills!

Thank for the suggestion. I love that Zing wedge! I'm moving it back into the lineup along with a S159 52*.

I've put CFS or AWT (original or 2.0, iron shafts, not the Wedge Shafts) in old PING wedges and like them.

Personally, I am sensitive to the flex in addition to weight of the shaft. Sometimes, the R vs. S is only a gram or two different in weight and the difference is mainly the tip section. At other times, the S just has a lot more material (pushing 10 grams more weight), in addition to the tip section.

For example, I also like some of the old Dynalite Gold shafts in wedges; weight is often the same or higher than a lot of the old PING shafts, but the tip section is a lot more responsive.

BTW, I also liked the Zing wedges but no longer have one.

BTW, how long is the tip section (including the inserted portion; should be 1 inch) in the KT shaft (for the LW)?

I will post when I get it back. I sent it to get refurbished. But I estimate that it is between about 2 1/2 inches.

I got my Zing back. That Ping tumbled finish... I wish they never went away from it. Turns out the tip section is 1 1/4". A thank you to Ron at llgolf-pings.com. Great work!
