McConnell Golf Experience?

Hi everyone,

Very seriously considering joining McConnell golf. I have only played one of their courses and was in and out for the round. Was wondering if anyone could share their experiences, especially if a member, in terms of the golf courses, how busy they are (difficult to get tee times?) and just overall the McConnell experience.

Which course are you considering joining because that makes a big difference. Overall I've been happy but my course is nice and our membership isn't overcrowded. The network is good but you're limited on tee times at other clubs more than they will tell you. Especially for clubs that have a waiting list.

A member at my course is a member at Sedgefield, as well. I have been fortunate enough to play Sedgefield, The Cardinal, and Musgrove Mill. When in school at NC State, I worked at Raleigh CC before McConnell, and it was a great course that has now been improved. I caddied at a US Open qualifier at Treyburn, and that was a very nice club. I haven’t played it, but I’ve seen Asheville CC, and it’s a beauty. I’d be thrilled to be a member at any of those. Also, Sedgefield has the best 19th hole I have ever been in.

I'm actually considering a national membership, which doesn't allow for a home course. But it is interesting to read you discuss about access to tee-times at other courses.

For me Sedgefield has been a perfect club. We live in the neighborhood so easy access to pool and other amenities. Even without the network its been worth joining for sure.

Just a bit of droll humor, mon frer.

As far as I can recollect, Country Club of Ashville don't let too many "average Joes" though the gates...

As such, I found the juxtaposition of screen name and thread theme mildly amusing.

My only excuse? The simple fact that It is tough to kill time at work...

Ha! Understood. Appreciated! I have always struggled to read "between the lines," but also just "the lines."
