Switching from Z-Star Diamond?

Hey everyone, I am thinking about switching from the Z-star Diamond to maybe a new lower spinning ball this season. So far through the couple of rounds I have played, I feel like the diamond might be spinning too much. I have been able to get 7 irons to spin back about a foot or 2 and a 6 iron can check and stay right at its pitch mark. Now I am not too sure if it’s truly because of over spinning or because of the greens still being kind of soft. What do you guys think? Thinking about switching to TP5x or Tour B X.

I switched to the 2023 Pro V1 which is a little lower spinning on iron and wedge shots than the Diamond...Better durability as well. I have a shallow angle of attack and I usually get a 1 hop and stop with my irons and wedges with the Pro V1. The Bridgestone Tour BX would also be a good choice to try. If you like Srixon's, the XV might be worth a try too. There are a couple threads on comparisons of the new TP5X, Chrome Tour X, and BX that may be good reads for you.

I switched from Prov1x to Diamond for more spin around the green and softer feel. I haven’t noticed any distance loss at all. Really my only complaint is the durability, a Pro V will easily last an entire round, it’s tough for a Srixon to make it through an entire round without some sort of scuff. It’s not too bad for because I usually don’t play a ball more than 1 round. If I wanted less spin and lower flight I’d go to a ProV1.

Chrome Tour Regular is on the lower spin range for premium balls, worth a try.

Why not try the standard Z Star?

Have you tried the standard Z Star? If not, just try it and see what happens, you may be surprised. Forget about what balls are "supposed" to do...definitely worth a try.
