St. Andrews Non-Old Course Last Minute Tee Times

I’m going on a family trip to Scotland this July. We are staying a couple of nights in St. Andrews and hope to play TOC. We were unsuccessful with the lottery, but we plan to ballot 3 days and try the new singles queue set up. We originally planned to play the Castle Course Thursday, and camp out Thursday night for a time on Friday if we didn’t get a time through the ballot. Now that camping out is no longer an option, I wanted to have a plan in place in case we didn’t get on TOC. What is everyone’s experience getting last minute tee times at the other St. Andrews courses? Is it practical for a twosome to get on the New or Jubilee or Eden with only one or two days notice? We would also be open to going to Crail, but I assume it would be tougher to get a last minute tee time there. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

If  you book times in advance, you pay in advance and there is no refund if you are successful in the ballot.

 

You can book the Jubilee the day before or you can just turn up for the New as we leave 50% of the times every day for that purpose.
