Taylormade TP Reserve B11 vs. M47 (Need help!)

Has anyone played either of these putters? I've narrowed my search down to these two, and I wanted opinions from anyone who has played them. I love the look of both, so at this point it would come down to performance. Unfortunately I am unable to try before I buy so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks! I do putt well with blades, however from what I've been reading the M47 plays like a blade with a little more forgiveness. My weak point is distance control, so looking for the best option to improve that.

I own the B11, this is my own experience/impression……. It ‘swings’ really well for me, whether that is due to its weighting, or the amount of toe flow/hang I don’t know. It also feels really solid, feedback is great and the roll works well on the greens I putt on.

negatives….. it’s top line is too thick for my taste and the slope of the toe makes the overall blade length look short. Basically there are better looking Anser 2 type putters from above, also the Headcover is not very durable.

but the this thing gets the ball in the hole really really well, which is the best metric of all.

Both are solid putters and roll very true. One thing that took me by surprise was the size of M47. It’s bigger than I expected as it’s bigger than the traditional mid mallet “D” shaped putters such as the PING DS72 or the Odyssey 3T. This may be a good thing, a bad thing or make no difference for you.

You can check out it’s size based on the pictures of the PING DS72, Odyssey 3T and the Taylormade M47 that have attached in this post in relation to the size of a golf ball.

Edit: The Odyssey 3T picture is coming out in a different size to the other 2 but you can still see the comparison.

I owned the ds72 for a bit and it looked too small for me. Based on what you’re saying sounds like the TM is going to appeal well size-wise for me. If you have rolled both, what is the feel like? Are they similar? Thanks for the reply!

They feel fairly similar but that’s expected as they have the same milling pattern. I would say that the M47 feels a bit fuller than the B11 if that make sense. But keep in mind, what I was feeling between the 2 will naturally occur when comparing a Anser/blade style to a mid mallet style

in the same line of putters.
My distance control was better with the B11 but my distance control has always been better with blades/Anser styles than mid mallets or mallets.
If possible, I would recommend that you try to roll them before purchasing.
