Has anyone tried this combo length irons?

I am debating on creating an iron set/wedge set with a variable/combo length system. I was intrigued that Avoda Golf has a combo length where the 8-LW are at 36''. I am thinking of trying to build my set with the 8-LW at 36.5" and the 4-7 iron standard variable length. I want something longer in the wedges and short irons as they feel awkward to meet at a short length only (+1/4"). 

Does anyone play their irons like this?

In a similar manner, I used to have PW, SW and LW each the length of 36" 9i.  What I liked about that was the added length naturally increased the swing weight of each club, to as much as E0 LW.  I have been thinking about going back to that setup.   As it is, my 52 and 58 are PW length.

I play 5 iron for the whole set 60->5i . No reason you cant do combo sets I was recently looking at them and I think its not a bad Idea I just hard stepped the set 2 times to compensate. My wedges are 5 iron length and when I want to hit a "Normal" chippy 60 degree I just choke down to the bottom of my grip. No experience with Avoda though look pretty interesting since I think they are the only players style CB one lengths now that sterling has gone under.

You know, this would be interesting in reverse. Variable length short irons, single length long irons. Lots of mid handicappers do ok with their 7 irons and maybe 6 irons but then fall apart with their 5 irons and increasingly don’t even carry a four iron, replacing it with a hybrid. I think the reason longer irons are hard has more to do with shaft length than loft. So making an iron set where the 20-28 degree lofted clubs would all be 38” and the 30+ degree clubs would be progressive length makes some sense to me
