Arms position at setup (arms rotated in or out)

How does this affect swing?

At setup, I've played with rotating my arms in both directions to see how this affects my ballstriking. By rotation, I mean that I can address the ball and have the points of both elbows almost point at my belt buckle. I can also rotate them out so that the left elbow points right of my target line(vice versa for my right elbow). That seems like a lot of rotation to me, but maybe its normal.

The problem is I don't feel comfortable just letting my arms hang naturally while gripping the club at address. Plus I notice some inconsistancies in striking with this approach. I know Hogan advised keeping the arms together and pointing at your hips. But is there an advantage to one extreme vs. the other? :clapping:

The wrist, grip, arm conditions are very important. the shaft have to move on plane, thus the grip will influence to whatever you need to do in the swing...

 

 

Grip have to be compatible with whatever your feeling and doing. and both elbow pointing at your hips = very weak left hand and strong right. need alot of roll up and down the plane..

 

 

both strong grip, or strong left , nuetral right grip are more popular nowadays, no need to roll.

 

I think both elbow close together is compatible to a very strong left hand grip and a underhand right side grip , palm parrallel, left thumb below right heel.but left elbow points to target. like zack and boo..Just ****/uncock both wrists up and down the plane and pivot through. Hogans elbow is not closed together...

IMO the left arm is straight the right elbow relaxed and they hang together pretty much naturally.

 

why does everyone want to make this game harder than it is ?
