Iron Shaft Experiment

Ok, like the title says, I am thinking of trying something new in my irons. I have played S300 Dynamic Gold shafts since i started playing golf becuase I figured that is what would work best for me. Since then, I have gotten much better and have developed a more repeatable (finally down to a single digit cap, whoo!!) and much higher SS swing. I have been switching between irons for about a year now trying to find a set that will allow me to move the ball around a bit but will give me a little lower ball flight. Up until last year, I gamed some Titleist 962bs because they were pretty solid (still not quite as low a ball flight as I like, but better than what i have found since) but I finally rounded out the grooves on the short irons so I had to find something new. I have played about 4 different sets since, but have been finding that everything i hit seems to go too high on regular shots (almost uncontrollable height). Currently I am playing some MP32s that feel great but are about half a club shorter than I am used to. I have been looking around for some stiffer iron shafts to try out in these heads, and I was just hoping to get some feedback from anyone who has switched from Stiff to X-stiff. Let me know how it affected your ball flight and what your swing is like (SS and tempo.) My driver SS is avg 116 and I usually carry my 6 iron about 180-190 (depending teeing area or from FW; more if I step on it but I don't care to do that too much).

 

BTW, I am thinking that I would like to try some Tour Concept X-1s because they seem like they would be stiff enough to lower the ball flight but stiff smooth enough to load and get pretty solid distance. If anyone has any feed back on these shafts, I would appreciate your responses.
