tough getting the right info

Hey Guys

My first post here. I have a G10 9deg. head on the way and have been doing a bunch of research here to get the low down on which shaft to go with. I have heard everything from high launch to low launch, low spin to high spin. Driving me nuts! I wish someone with a true knowledge of this head would speak up and give out the real deal on this issue. For the sake of consistency lets just leave the shaft out of the picture and just comment on the head. So, can we get some agreement on this heads flight tendencies? Thanks for the help.

My Driver SS is 110-115 with mid/low trajectory, very slight fade typical. This is with my current driver which is a R5TP with Prolite 35 X-flex. This was installed 1/2 tipped to bring the spin down on this head as it is well known to be a very high spin head.

First of all Tom Towne, :D

I have found the G10 to be a medium spin head with a boring trajectory. It's certainly not a low spin driver like the Hibores, Mizunos, or the Bridgestone series but it's certainly not high spin either.

I have found it to be IMHO a head that responds very well to different shafts so if you need more launch and spin, you can go with a softer tip shaft and if you're looking to get a lower launch and less spin, you can go with a more tip stiff shaft.

Maggot...nice spin numbers, launch a bit high with that Reg though.........Schlebrock, What is your SS and did you decide on the Red after trying out a bunch of others or did you just pick it up off the shelf with that shaft? Do you really like the red or are you thinking about another shaft? Thanks.

My SS is between 101-105mph, 8 handicap. I'm a club ho so I've tried numerous shafts but the combination of this shaft and head seems to work well. It's not the best feeling shaft that I've played but the results are so good that I've ignored that. I like a high initial launch with low spin so this combo makes a lot of sense.

Therefore, I had the Ping WRX department build me a G10, 10.5 (actual loft 11.0) with the Prolaunch Red at 44.75" (rather than the standard 45.75") and D-4 swingweight. It's still in the honeymoon stages but I feel it's going to be a keeper.
