Length for 31* Hybrid?

I currently carry the 2i (19), 3i (22), and 4i (25) Cleveland Halo hybrids with S300 TT Dynamic Gold SL shaft. I've been looking for a while to add a 6i to my bag but couldn't ever find a lefty steel version so I ended up buying a new 6i off e-bay for $31. Unfortunately I had to go with a Graphite A-flex shaft just to get the 6i.

 

So this weekend I'm going to have that shaft replaced with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Superlite S300 to match my other hybrids.

 

My question is, how long should I make the shaft in the 6i (31*) Halo hybrid?

After the 4i I currently have, my next 'longest' club is a 30* 6 iron (Cally X-20 Tour). The specs for the clubs 'around' that 6i I bought are: 6 iron 30* (38" long) and 4i 25* (38.5" long).

 

I'm not sure if I should:

1) make the 6i 38.5" (same length as my 4i but higher loft)

2) make the 6i 38.25" (so the length falls between my 4i and 6 iron)

3) make the 6i 38" (same length as my 6 iron)

 

At this point I'm not sure whether the 6i will replace my 6 iron (I typically hit my other three Halos much better than I hit my six iron so the 6i may replace the 6 iron) or be another club I have in my bag (and remove my 3 wood). I guess it will depend on how far I end up hitting the 6i.

Did you measure the length of the club with the graphite in? Generally you go 1/2 inch shorter with steel. Also Clevelands website should give you the specs. Hope this helps you.

After talking with the pro who is going to replace the shaft in my 6i, I've decided to find a 5i (28*) Halo and purchase it as well.

 

My plan is to drop my 6 iron (30* 38") and carry 5 Halos: 2i (19*), 3i (22*), 4i (25*), 5i (28*), and 6i (31*)...all with the TT Dynamic Gold Super Light S300 shaft.

 

My current Halos are 39.5", 39", and 38.5". My 7 iron is 37.5"

 

I'm thinking about making the 6i (31*) 38" and the 5i (28*) 38.25".

 

Does this sound find or should I drop the 6i (31*) down to 37.75" and then have the 5i (28*) at 38" or 38.25"?
