I've been using an older model but it's bulky and requires both hands to use and keep steady (works great though) I used to think these things were BS but then again my home course has basically every sprinkler head marked and they're always findable...at an unfamiliar couse I've found the thing works wonders. Played a course I've played a few times before but doesn't have very many yardage markers (NONE on par 3 tees which were definitely NOT where the card said they were :good: ) and I wish I had brought it with me. Soon I won't have to worry about that and I won't be borrowing any more!

I purchase from Overstock (in late June I believe) and finally received the rebate in the middle of September. Use http://rebatestatus.com to track details of your rebate.

They have the Scout 1000 on Ebay "Buy It Now" for $175. Buy it with the "Live Cashback" for 25% cashback for $131.25 plus mail in the rebate form for an additional $50 rebate for a grand total of $81.25....Not Bad....

Might be difficult to get one for $81.25 considering that the ebay sellers that sell them for $175 cannot give you a legitimate receipt for rebate purposes. The rebate form requires a store receipt and the ebay sellers that offer them for $175 are not operating a brick and mortar store or a real business that pays taxes. I checked feedback on one of the ebay sellers offering the unit for $175 and a few of the buyers complained about not getting a receipt. I e-mailed another and they replied that they could not provide a receipt either. They even advertise them as "New Open Box", which would likely disqualify them for the rebate. I don't even know what "New Open Box" means. Could be refurbished or even stolen. I know they didn't come straight from Bushnell to the $175 ebay sellers, that's for sure. Also, there is a $10 shipping charge, unless you want the camo/realtree model. Not saying that it can't be done, but I see a lot of reasons that the rebate would be rejected. Better off sticking with a legitmate seller, IMHO. Too bad Walmart raised the price to $250 (and yes, you have to pay State sales tax, if applicable). Overstock has them again for 239.99 and are a legimate site/store to purchase from. As others have stated, the rebate from Bushnell for purchases through Overstock is legit.

OOOKAAAY........I wasn't aware of that. There are a couple though that will provide a receipt and are brand new in sealed box. One is Buy It Now for $209.99 that would end up a total of $107.49 and another one that is $229.00 that would end up being $121.75. Still not bad prices after Cashback and rebate.

Yes, the ebay sellers that you mentioned seem fine and you should have no problems with the rebate. BTW, I wasn't challenging your original post. Just wanted to give a word of warning about the ebay sellers listing them for $175-180 and their inability to provide the buyer with a sales receipt for rebate purposes.

 

Update: Looks like the rebate is no good anymore. The company who processes them is bankrupt. Idiots. Read about it here:
