Grip size question

Well, a friend of mine who wants to regrip his own clubs, since i showed him how easy it was, asked me a question about the grips he needed to order and I felt like an idiot because i wasn't sure of the answer. Basically he wanted to know what the difference would be between the .580 and .600 grip sizes. I believe that is the inner diameter measurement but he wanted to know if there would be any noticeable difference between the two once installed. Im not sure, i got looking at what grips i use, testing out the GP tour wrap cords and they are offered in both sizes and i'm not even sure which ones i have. Someone please explain to me the differences between the two sizes if installed on identical shafts. You will be helping two of out here, Thanks.

Grips come in sizes to match some shaft butt O.D.s. A .600 grip will make a standard size installed grip on a .600 diameter shaft. Mens standard installed size is .900" measured 2" below the gripcap. If you use a .600 grip on a .580 shaft you will need 2 wraps of build up tape to make a standard grip. without the tape it is considered 1/64th undersize.
