To support the First Tee Organization

Hello Golfwrx members-

My name is Brian Ash. Next year, I will be a senior in highschool. I love golf and have played on my highschool team. This June I will start riding from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean on a bicycle with Overland Summers. The trip will start in Savannah, Georgia, and end 3,000+ miles and 44 days later in Santa Monica, California. I will have to fully support myself (carry everything I need on the back of my bike, including my sleeping bag, clothes, etc) while biking over 80 miles each day.

This trip has given me a great opportunity to raise money for an organization. I have decided to raise money to support the First Tee Organization. I am teaming up with golf professional Roger Knick (swing coach of Nationwide Tour player Chris Nallen) in hopes that we can start a local chapter of the First Tee in Ridgefield/Danbury (Connecticut). While teaching children of all backgrounds how to golf, the First Tee also teaches them the lessons of life. "First Tee Nine Core Values" consist of: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment. Their impact has been astonishing since 1997 - The First Tee has given over one million underprivileged children the confidence to go back to school, gain more friends, become better leaders, and have an improved life on and off the course. I am really looking forward to becoming a mentor, and Roger will be a great administrator. To find out more information on The First Tee, you can visit www.thefirsttee.org. I have been very fortunate to have had access to many great courses in the area, and would like to share that opportunity to kids who might be less fortunate. The money that you donate to the First Tee will go directly to the First Tee of Fairfield County. If you would like to donate, please send me an email at [email protected].
