Smaller footprint drivers

My SIM has been acting up lately and I am looking to maybe try something else.  I do not like the large massive clubheads.  The G430, Qi10 look massive.   The SIM hides it better and I loved the size of the original g400. 
 

Any suggestions of drivers out there the last few years that don’t have a huge footprint or hide it well?  I don’t need the newest model per se. 
 

My driver SS is 95 on average.  I have tried a few low spin models from PING and Callaway and didn’t do well with them.

The various 430cc models might fit your requirements, such as SLDR 430, R15 430, M1 430, and so on.

 

You could always go back a few more years, to the SuperDeep.

Qi10 MAX has a large footprint but the standard and LS do not. Qi10 is better shape than SIM for my tastes. Also the Smoke Triple Diamond.

TSR4 is pretty small.  TSR3 just a tad larger but not even close to what I'd call large.  I had a TSR4 for a hot minute and while I liked it in looks I just performed better with the TSR3.  I couldn't use a driver that looked any larger; much prefer deep heads opposed to squashed heads.

Thanks, I'll have to check out the Titleist range.  Other then the TM models, any recommendations for 2021-2023 model year drivers?

Callaway's triple diamond models are normally 455cc, you could go with the Triple Diamond S Model (if you can find one) for something that's even smaller (420cc). TSR/TSI 4, the cobra 8 degree ls heads are smaller than their other counterparts (at least in the darkspeed), and Mizuno has a 440 cc line.

Mizuno ST-G 440 with the weights moved back to add spin. The TSR4 isn't as adjustable, but it is much easier to find used Titleist drivers and shafts than Mizuno.

Try to get a fitting for TSR series if there is an event nearby. They're currently on sale as well at $450. I believe (and correct me if i'm wrong), they should be coming out with a new line of metals in September.

I'd say the Titleist TSR4 or Mizuno ST-G 440 are smaller looking at address.

 

Or go on Ebay and get an old Adams 9015D....

 

Below at address is one Mizuno 440cc ST-G driver... and the other is actually 460cc of Adams legendariness

I feel the same way you do regarding size of drivers. I’m in OG Paradym TD. With the heavy weight in the back it spins quite a bit more and is pretty forgiving as well. I know you said you didn’t hit ping or Callaway well but I was assuming you mean current models. Maybe try the original Para and see if it works.

Otherwise, a cheap try would be your edge c721 pro. I had one before my paradym, smaller footprint and definitely not low spin. It had to go to Callaway (with heavyweight up front) to kill some spin for me.

I am hesitant to try the low spin heads due to my swing speed?  I thought the LS/Diamond models were geared towards faster swinger’s?

This is where I think the TSR4 at a higher loft and the heavy weight in the back should be playable from a spin perspective.

 

otherwise the G400 non-Max is as good as it’s going to get.

All the old Adams ls heads and Adams 9015 heads are super small looking for the modern era (it's crazy that they are 460cc)

The Cleveland classic heads have similar small footprint and 460cc

 

 

I grew up playing a few Adams Drivers and they were longer than anything else at the time ... they are not that forgiving honestly ... probably the main reason I wasn't a good driver of the golf ball in high school (was okay with my irons) 

 

PXG x heads are decent footprints and very forgiving 

PING I-20 and I-25 are basically the same thing as the current PXG heads 

 

just some food for thought 

 

ps: if you are swing at 95 mph look heads that are 11 to 13* of loft, and just tee the ball a little lower with the "new head" ... you can pretty much then make the same swing as you do with an iron and hit pretty level or slightly down, and get good launch & spin 

 

IF anyone at your fitting is trying to fit you into a driver that spins less than 2500 ... run (it won't work on the course)

To add to this, a 11.5* brnr mini with an 1/2” longer shaft turned down a couple clicks is going to be just as long as driver for most golfers. This thing is a mini monster!
