My First WITB

So I have been a long time reader and I post on occasion when something really gets my attention or I need to tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience that makes up this community. I have been on the forum for somewhere around nine months and I am not sure if I should thank you guys or wish I never found this site because I seem to have caught the club ho bug. Up until this season I had been playing essentially the same set up for 7 seasons, this year I redid my entire bag sans my three wood and that's only because I have yet to decide on what I want to replace it with. I figured I would take this opportunity to share my bag and my story so you all could take shame/glory in what you have done to one of your fellow golfers.

 

Driver: 9.5* Mizuno MP 600 w/ Fujikura Rombax 7z08

3-wood: 15* Titleist 980f

Hybrid: 20* Mizuno CLK Fli-Hi

4 Iron: MP-57 w/ PX 6.0

5-PW: MP-67 w/ PX 6.0

52* Cleveland CG12

58* Callaway X-Forged w/ C-Grind and MD grooves

64* Callaway X-Forged w/ MD grooves

Putter: PING Redwood Black Satin ZB Black Dot

Bag: Ogio Nexos Black/Gold

Ball: Still deciding between ProV1x/Callaway ix/Taylor Made TP Red LDP

 

 

I should note that I was extremely close to buying Miura CB-202's but luckily for my finances I reigned it in and ended up getting great deals on most of the equipment I did buy. Overall I couldn't be happier with the guidance and recommendations I have found on this forum although my bank account has seen better days as a result :clapping: .

That driver is a beast and the irons are butta...I haven't had the time to check out the new reds even though we got them a month or so ago...

Oh wow, that is a great setup. I love just about everything in that bag (though i'll cop to hating everything about any club that's only available right-handed), and am really starting to hanker for one of those ZB's. Hopefully you can chime in with some reviews down the road. Give some of us an idea of what it's like to play some of that. :clapping:

How's the Wedge system working out for you on the Ogio?

Hey guys, I appreciate the kind words. I will respond to some of the questions as best I can.

 

Myfast: So far I am liking the Nexos bag but it is definitely still in its honeymoon period. The bag looks great and has very nice features. I had really good luck with ogio about 4 years ago but switched to a Cally bag and it was pretty bad. I ended up going through 3 of them because the leg system was flimsy. My only complaint would be that the bag is a touch heavy for compared to some other stand bags, but I went into it knowing it would be so it wasn't a shock and I am okay with a little added weight given the quantity of features.

 

Beruo: So far everything has been really good. The MP-600 is really solid and it coupled with the shaft has really helped me with getting my driver flight down and picking up some distance. I tend to have a steep swing and put a lot of spin on the ball with my driver. The irons have been good so far and they feel as good as expected and as bad as I expected on misses which is exactly what I wanted. The wedges have been fantastic. I have never had this much fun practicing chipping and pitching around the greens. The amount of spin they put on the ball is impressive to say the least. Finally, the puttter. The ZB sets up perfect for me and it sits very square. The feel is also very good, it feels really solid yet soft.
