G10 Shaft dilemma looking for some input

Trying to "dial in" to the right shaft for mine....
Hi All, well my driver search has gotten interesting... I had been ( still have) a 07 Burner TP, 8.5 deg with a TP75 Rombax "X" in it that has been my best option "so far"... Had been talked into giving the G10 a run as its excellent reputation and perfomance for most people has been well documented. The Burner has been good, but I am certain I am leaving enough "out there" to warrant tryign to find a better fit. haven't found a local builder fitter with a Launch monitor so it has been educated trial and error.

So welcome the G10, 9 deg was the lowest lofted option on hand and even with the PL Red it was launching too high to be effective. So a 7.5 deg was orderd with the PL Red shaft. This combo was about neck and neck with the TP Burner I was using, but I was spraying the G10 much more and way wider. I suspect a combination of the length/lie etc. I decided to give the Pershing a tril run in it as that has been talked about as a "great' combination. Ordered it in the 75-S as I am finiding that I do much better with taht weight vs the stuff in the 60's.. The NV-75S has been a bit of my "Gold standard" from which to judge other shafts by. ( sorry fellas I don't have experience with teh spendy shafts...) Well the Pershing 75 flew higher and tended to hook on me, even with it setup in a more usable 45" length. So I was going to say "Give up" on the G10 but as a last resort I put a NV-75S Pull I had on hand, jsut to see if that would make a difference... Yep sure did... and it may have surpassed the burner TP setup, need some on course time to determine it... One thing I am looking at is the height, and type of flight I am getting... with the Burenr setup I'm border line on beign where I am having a tad too much spin at times, so the flight peaks out almost liek a little hop near the apex before it descends... With the G10 NV75 combo the flight is more arced ( rainbow"ish" if you get my drift)... but I think this rainbow may have too much of an arc, and could use some flattening... So I am wondering what shaft might do that for me, yet keep me close in to the feel I like from the NV-75....

Diamana Blue? Diamana WB? What about a Javlyn FX 73/83S? YS-7+S ( too much spin still?) NV Protopype 70S? ProLaunch Platinum Tour 75? AXIS? I think the reason the PL Red hasn't worked out so well for me is a combination of it's lite weight, and perhaps too tip stiff? Which Diamana is closest to the NV-75? Looking forward to any answers and insights...

Lol.. I hear ya on that.. I have to wonder if the ping fitting carts would even have the kind of options I am looking for.... many times the fitting carts (in general) have all the "stock" options in the respective flexes, and sometimes a small smattering of a few special order/custom upcharge shafts... more often they don't. Closest thing I had was back in the days of the Titleist 983K/E drivers when I got fitted by one of the science vans of theirs... They had a bunch of drivers with shafts that only had numbers on them so that you weren't influenced by what shaft you thought you were hitting. That was neat. They had a fair selection of heads with some "Exotic" 'shafts in them, so you could get a good sense of what was going to work for you.

(If you are wondering they dialed me into a 983E 8.5 deg with a tipped Prolite 35 S in it. so essentially a soft X)

Well FWIW I played in a league last night as a guest. The course wasn't much, basically built in a lower lying swampy area and conditions were generally soft. Hit the current combination well, drives of 268, 260,263, 252, 257. The course wasn't giving much roll out, but I'd say watchign the flight that the angle of decent was farily steep which I think ( as mentioned) is a spin issue. I did tend to hit it higher than I have been with the 07 Tp Burner/rombax 75 X setup, but this drier felt soooo much better. Keeping in mind it's at 44.5" I could easily add 1/2-1" but extesion to it, might pick up a touch with that.. But yes I think reducing the spin is key thing...

 

Hmm need a WB on the "cheap" now...
