okay i realized ping rapture v2 came up with two shafts
diamana BB and TFC 939D.

is is fake diamana BB like titleist/nike or real BB?
if its real its definitely great catch!

The 4 pts isnt fake lol it is exactly the same shaft as the x5ct just with a 1" longer tip section to accomodate through bore style heads. As for the V2, i would be very surprised if the BB was the real deal assuming the price is the same as for the TFC. I believe the BB is a wrx upgrade at the moment of like $200 so i cant see it being stock in the v2.

When I spoke to the Ping rep last week, he had four v2's with him and they only had blueboards in them and there was no designation on them as being designed for ping or anything. I couldn't tell them apart in the least bit from the real blueboard I have in my J33. He just said it was the stock shaft and the price was going to be about the same as the original rapture msrp when it comes out next month. Hope that helps.

The shaft is the actual Diamana Blueboard, not some shaft that looks like a BB. No upcharge at all, comes stock with either that or the TFC. Unfortunately the WhiteBoard is a $190.00 upcharge.

I purchased my Ping Rapture V2 today. I noticed on the Blue Board G35t I asked about it the sales guy knew nothing but asked another and they thought 350 tip (Which I was already assuming). There is nothing on the Mitsubishi website with G35t printed on it. I called Ping they said the 35t means 350 Tip but did not know what the G stood for. I thought the Diamana Blue Board were all 335 tip. So clearly this shaft has been made specifically for Ping in a 350 tip. Looks like a real Blue Board, Ping says it is but true test is when I hit it on the range.

Ping told me today it is the real deal. So the tfc changed colors? Weird? Ping had to call me back on my cell phone as they did not know the answer right away, I would like to hear from some of the club guys on this and what does the G mean? Of course what is printed on the shaft is not going to swing the club for you but curiousity.

Q: What do specific shaft markings mean? What is the difference between an after market shaft, and those shafts designed specifically for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) use.

A: Each shaft for the retail after-market is usually designated by our company name: "Mitsubishi Rayon" (with the 3 diamond mark), followed by a weight designation (103, 93, 83, 73, 63, 53, 43), followed by "x5ct" which designates 5 carats, followed by the shaft flex. Example: Mitsubishi Rayon 73 x5ct flex - x. OEM shafts are marked in a different way to help identify the differences in the tip section, in addition to help distinguish OEM from retail after-market shafts. As a result, the "x5ct" marking is replaced with a "g 35 t" (for shafts with a 0.350 tip OD) or "g 4" t" (for shafts with a 4 inch parallel tip section) for all OEM shafts.
