Scotty Cameron Red X2 - what's the head material?

Should there be any rust?

I have a buddy that is wanting me to buy his Red X2 but I seem to think that something is just not right. It has a little, very little, surface rust on the top kind of at the seams that I think should not be there if it's a real Scotty. Were'nt these made from stainless steel and if so they should not rust. I guess if he left the head cover on when it was wet or something, that might cause a little discoloration, but stainless should not rust, right?

Also, if it is real, what should it be worth in a 7.5 to 8/10 condition. It does have the black head cover and divot tool.

Oh, and I would need to cut it down from 34" to 33" and I assume that I can remove the bottom plate and add some weight, right? This would be my first Scotty so I'm a little green on the subject. Thanks!

The body is stainless. it might rust just a little on the surface, but usually cleans right off. If it is wet and sits with the headcover on. I remember this happening to me after a rainy round and leaving the headcover on.

 

The face is German stainless.

 

The base plate is aluminum.

 

You can unscrew the base plate and add weight it is very easy.

 

In that condition around $125 tops.
