These are probably some of the easiest fairways to hit and get up in the air - the standard lengths are about .5 inches shorter than other OEMs, you've got a shallow face, and a subtle triangle look for more forgiveness. The feel is very soft and rocket-like with the maraging steel (hard) insert. The key is getting the right shaft that fits you. I have the 3 and 5 woods -- the Accra T70 shafts that I have produce too much spin. I have a 4 wood being shafted up now with an Accra XT70, which will reduce the spin. I'm expecting good things.

If the above sounds good -- give them a shot. Jesse Ortiz also designed the Orlimar Fairways of the late '90s, that were the #1 selling FWs in golf. This club, while being an evolution of those earlier clubs -- the new clubs are slightly deeper, have a more subtle triangular shape with added forgiveness, and a softer feel off the ball -- are a tremendous improvement.

FWIW, I hit the new Rapture V2 fairways and saw some resemblance. The Jones Fairways seem just as easy to hit, and with both clubs, the key to success is the shaft.

Anyone heard anything about workshop edition fairway metals from Jesse Ortiz/Bobby Jones Golf Co.? I saw them in Golf Digest on the "hot list" but have seen/heard nothing else on them.

Anyone heard anything about workshop edition fairway metals from Jesse Ortiz/Bobby Jones Golf Co.? I saw them in Golf Digest on the "hot list" but have seen/heard nothing else on them.

They are coming out in March in 15 and 18 in the workshop edition for those who need help off the deck (shallow and triangular version), and the pear shaped fairways for better players will be in 13 and 15 degrees. Jesse sees a trend for better players going to hybrids in higher lofted fairways. He has the Hybrids for that purpose.

thanks for the info. I like the feel of these clubs, and the new Titleists. both seen to be slightly open, though, which may play with my natural fade. I don't know if the club weighting can correct me, but I don't want to go so far as a draw bias...
