Titleist 690.mb's

Hey all,

I am tempted to pull the trigger on my first set of Titleist irons. I currently play the RAC LT's and really like the feel of a forged club (when hit right). Golf Galaxy had a used set of 690.mb's with TT DG S300's for $499. I hit the 7 iron 15 times and hit each shot flush with great feel. Didn't mis hit one.

My local pro is warning me not to purchase as you have to hit these puppies flush each time to reak the benefits. Out of the 15 I hit, I hit them very well. I do ocasionally mishit an iron shot, (I think we all do at some point) but not on a regular basis. My driver SS is in the high one teens and mid one twentys.

I really liked the feel of the blades better than a cast club. He advises me not to rely on feel but results.

What is your take on this? I am also considering the 690.cb's. Any input on those as well?

If you want them go for it :D That's not a bad price.

I almost got the 690.cb's but the MP 60's put a halt to that.

Definitely try the 690CB irons. They're pretty similar to the MB irons but just that little bit more forgiving. Or you could wait for the new 695MB/695CB to come out on the public market!

If I were you, I'd wait and get the Titleist 695CB's. Theyre coming out in less than a month and you might as well play with the latest technology. Mine are coming in March 15th.

I have the 690.mb's and love them.. i am switching to the 695.mb's as soon as they come out...both are great clubs.

I said go for it. I did.

 

The 690 mb's or cb's are very nice clubs. They are not as forgiving as LT’s but when you hit flush, ball jump off the club face like no other’s. I felt tight and precise when you hit the 690’s compare to smooth and easy for the LT’s.

My set of 690.mb's carded the second ace of my life. I let them go for a set of MP32's. Will go back to Titleist when the opportunity arises. I hover between 9.5 and 11 h'cap. Not a great player, but thoroughly enjoy the forged feel. And, after playing a number of different manufacturers and different blade style irons, the 690.mb's are still my favorite. If they are in good conditon and you can pick them up at a good price... go for it. Yes, the 695's will be the "latest" thing, but they'll probably be in the $900 range. Good luck with your game whichever way you go!!
