Hey all, Im a Platoon Sergeant here in Iraq, and was wondering if anyone had any clubs, balls or magazines they would like to unload. We have about 100 soldiers here, a few old clubs (the lefty ones are in really bad shape... hint hint... LOL) and a few balls... if anyone would like to send some, send me an IM for an address...

Brent, first thank you and thank your platoon for your services. Sorry you guys can't be home for the holidays. You and your fellow service members sacrifices are not lost on us civilians. :) Seriously, thank you for your service!

 

I'll get something out to you guys! I just ordered you guys 10dz NXT practice balls and 5dz top flights. Not the best balls but they should hold up for your guys and your infinite sand bunker'd course. :) Sorry they are used. Hopefully you guys will get some good practice in with them.

 

I spent 2 Christmas's in Japan when I was in the Navy. Though I was not in a war zone I understand what it's like to be away during the holidays. There's a lot of people at home thinking about you guys and gals!

I work with TC Finance Co ( TC Corp) and we're located in France (American company though) - we do Harley Davidson financing worldwide to all US military personnel overseas (you've probably met the OMSC crew that sells cars and motorcycles -ask them, they know us) and consequently lots of business in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as South Korea, Guam, Okinawa, Japan, and all of NATO Europe, etc..... Despite being in France - we're supportive of you guys out there ( I'm an expat american actually). Not advertising, but just nice to be in contact with someone out there that we do business with and that plays golf....

 

I play golf and am a lefty. Will go to my basement and unload all not in use to forward to you. I have a set of MP32s with graphite shafts and a couple odd wedges and putters. There might be a couple beaters, but also some good stuff - you can't get enough stuff for lefties...... Hope you enjoy.

I have sent a few hundred golf clubs to Iraq through my local Marine recruiting office. They ship it for me - I gladly collect the clubs and box them up, and they get it in the mail for me - saves me some cash. If they ever say they have too many clubs, I'll gladly send some stuff your way. Thanks to you and your guys for doing what you do.

thanks so much for the package!!! The clubs and balls and tee's will soon be put to use. We only had a 2 and a 3 wood for right handed players. the ground is really hard so tee's are always an issue! Again thank you very much for the package!!!!

Something I was thinking about, maybe you guys could get some of these to make a little course on your base. They are a lot of fun when you don't have a lot of room or you don't have a course.

As most of you may know I have moved again, we are working on setting something up here, but we really need something to hit off of... At the last place we were at, it was dirt with some rocks, here its some rocks with some dirt.

Well everyone, thank you so much for the outpouring of golf stuff during this deployment! Many people came to my office to pick up some clubs and balls before headed out to the outposts. Sorry I haven't been keeping this to up to date, but its been a busy time. When I first asked for everything, we were on a small patrol base outside of Kirkuk, Iraq. We were then moved to the large base in Kirkuk. Kirkuk was a fairly quiet area, with very little issues. I did lose one of my own Soldiers there, a Soldier who had deployed with me before, to a unfortunate accident. We were then moved to Mosul, one of the most dangerous cities. We lost 5 more of our own, from my Company here. The clubs were a welcome distraction to what went on here.

We are now in the stages of packing all of our stuff and turning in equipment. I have left alot of the clubs and balls here for the next unit, hoping that they will get the enjoyment we did out of all the supplies. Thank you again, everyone here at GOLFWRX, for all that you have done to make this tour better
