Bushnell Scout 1000 Rebate Troubles

I bought a Bushnell Scout 1000 based upon reading about the rebate information. Got the rebate check in mid-October and deposited it my bank on my way out of town for Thanksgiving. Today the check bounced. Started to call my bank but noticed an obscure email in my Inbox. It was from Bushnell on Dec 1st saying the holding company in charge of the rebate filed for Chapter 11. Called up Bushnell and talked to their corporate office. The lady stated that the holding company did not pay out on any of the rebates yet. Has anyone here gotten there check?

 

Anyway, if you do have a rebate check do NOT cash it. Bushnell will honor the check, but you must get a copy of the check to them. They do not have records as the holding company was keeping them and they are furthermore frozen by the courts. It's a pain in the Word not allowed for me, because I need to get a copy of the check from the bank to get it reissued from Bushnell. And I am out $10 for the check bouncing (which the lady said I am on my own for).

 

Thought you guys should know.

Thanks for the information. I sent my rebate form into Bushnell back in October and the rebate status website said it is being processed but the website is for Continental Promotion Group, the company that filed for bankrupcy. I have not received any rebate check yet. I wonder whether I'm caught in limbo now since I don't have a check yet and have already sent in the information.

 

The bushnell.rebatestatus.com site does say this:

"Due to updated information, a new submission may have been created. Click Back or New Search to view or locate the new record. If you are unable to locate the new record, contact Customer Service using the link below."

Thanks for the information. I will send copies of my rebate submission that I submitted a couple of days ago to Bushnell for hopefully quick processing. Wish I knew about this before I sent it to rebate company. But, this beats waiting weeks for a response that will likely never come and arduous followups.

I talked to Bushnell customer service yesterday and they said they have the complete database of customer rebates from the promotional company that went under and then will be sending out the new checks around the 15th of December. They were very helpful and assured me I would be getting mine so I was pretty relieved to hear that.
