I have never seen that on before. IMO it is one ugly looking stick.

This was the set of irons that Faldo was supposed to use but Adams couldn't provide him with a forged set. Faldo had the bag and hat but wouldn't put the irons in the bag. Adams claimed a breach of contract and they parted company.

Not a bad set of irons except for the fact I had to send two sets back because the shafts kept separating where the graphite and steel joined, but it meant I got friendly with the Adams rep at the time.

I still have them somewhere but the 9 iron is in two pieces, a small incident which led to the shaft separating where the steel should be joined to some more steel.

what can anyone telle me about these?

They had two version the normal and the tour both retail and not much of a value

On the flipside if you can get the irons on the cheap it might be a nice backup set to have. I am a little biased because I have always had a few Adams clubs in the bag since the original Tight Lie was introduced.

3 versions.

The Performance GT was the first iron I was fitted for. This was around 2000-2001. As shown above tehy also came in a tour version.

A year or two after they released a blend of both the Performance and the Per Tour. They called it the Ultimate GT.

I traded my Performance GT's for a set of Ult GT's. They are my 23 yr old sons clubs now. I hit a few shots with them a few months ago ------ great sticks.

thanks a ton. i found a set on ebay for 60 bucks so i grabbed em up. if i like em ill probably get some more and experiment with different shaft options. although from what ive read about the shafts aside from breaking easily... they are actually really good performance wise. im a digger so ill have to figure something out. any more information. lofts or even how good the shafts are or arent would be great.

Cool refinish. MUCH better looking.

I remember messing around with those clubs in a hitting bay.

They are actually pretty soft feeling. Could have been due to the shafts. Narrow sole and compact size.

Watson gamed these for a while although I don't remember if he used the multi-material shafts.

funny. because, i was watching a Legends of Golf tourney involving Tom Watson and the Golden Bear. Tom was using a set of these with a different shaft. he certainly was killing them though. this was obviously a few years ago.

im going to reshaft them with hopefully a black steel shaft. id like kbs ones or even the black golds i think would look pretty sweet in these. any shaft that is satin or darker colored.

edit: my grammar is terrible.
