custom work: need help

im looking to custom paintfill my entire bag with my school colors(red black white). the only problem is my i10 irons have a diffferent kind of glossy paint on the back of them.. how do i go about removing the orang paintfill around where it says "ping" and where it says "i10"? and once it is off how do i go about adding a different color in a similar style/ appearance? thank you!!

I have done quite a few sets with team colors. get a can of Acetone from Home Depot or another Hardware store, a toothbrush, #11 exacto blades and some paper towels.

It is best to go ahead and remove all of the paintfill and redo it all. The Ping G10 paint will loosen with acetone. You must use the exacto blade to scape out the corners and nooks and crannys.

Once you remove all the fill, follow the paintfill instructions there are all over the site. I have listed them multiple times and here they are again:

-What you need-

Acetone (fingernail polish remover)

glass or stainless steel bowl

old toothbrush

toothpics

#11 exacto blades

paper towels

Q-Tips

Tamiya Acrylic X paints (clear colors are translucent...i.e. "clear red")

Pour at least a 1/2" or more of acetone in a bowl

soak the head in it for a few minutes and ocaisionally remove the head and use the toothbrush, toothpics and exacto blades to loosen up the paint in the lettering and dots until ALL of the paint is gone

Dip a paper towel into the acetone and wipe down and clean the head.

I use Stainless Steel needle tip applicatiors to apply my paintfills. It is faster and MUCH more controllable but you CAN do it without them. They cost about $3 at a hobby/train/model shop and will save you a lot of time and trouble. They are important for complicated fills in tight areas. The red tips are the best size needles for paint fill

You can dip a toothpic in paint and fill the areas too.

Using a SS applicatior or toothpic, fill the areas that you want.

DO NOT WORRY IF YOU GET OVERFILL OUTSIDE OF THE LETTERING!

Use your finger to do a quick wipe across the top to smear and thin out the overfill. Once again, don't worry about the over fill.

After you fill, let is set for 5 minutes. Once it has set for at least 5 minutes, use a Qtip lightly dipped in acetone to gently remove ONLY the overfilled paint AROUND the lettering. You may need to use a few tips and dip them lightly in aceton multiple times.

Once it is close to clean, dip a small piece of paper towel into the acetone and just using only your pointer finger, gently wipe across the top of the area cleaning ONLY the top surface.

There you have it. Take your time and be meticules and it will look great.

GET GOOD PAINT! You can use anything, however I have not found ANY paint as good as the Tamiya Acrylic X paints that you can get from specialty model or train stores.

If you are doing complicated fills in close proximity to other colors, I would suggest to get the needle applicators, I have a bottle for each color I fill.

Once you finish using the applicator, have one squeeze bottle with Acetone in it instead of paint. Snap on your used needle tip, squirt acetone through it until clear and unsnap and save until you next fill.

Tamiya Paints that have "clear" before the color mean "translucent" i.e. "clear red = translucent red" Smoke is clear black
