Specs???

Can anyone help me with the specs for Tourstage Cavity backs? Bridgestone has not gotten back to me and it has been a couple of days since I contacted them.

I'm also interested in the playability factor with these irons.

I bought a slightly used set of the TourStage Z101s on Ebay, they have standard loft, length and lie; shafts are factory NS Pro 950GH stiiff flex steel shafts, TourStage cord grips.

 

Tried them at the range today and all I can say is "wow". Looks are so simple and elegant, soft yet very solid forged cavity backs, I really like the NS Pro 950GH shafts, light like graphite but very consistent like steel. I thought they hit the ball higher than what I'm used to but I also like that part. The short irons are just pinpoint and what really came as a surprise was the ease and forgiveness of the long irons, possibly because of the tungsten weighting. I usually hit about 120 balls when I go to the range using all my clubs including a lot of inside 100 yard shots with my wedges, but today with the Z101s, I ended up hitting about 500 balls (hey, it's my day off). I'll try them again tomorrow and hopefully play with them on Friday.

 

Great set of sticks and thanks to Sam T., I've been reading his posts on these clubs and he's absolutely right. Now I have these and the Bridgestone J33 Combos.

You're WELCOME! :D ;) I still pretty much feel these are the FINEST forged cavity backs ever made. I like my set of J33 combos as well (mostly because of that sole design), but the Z101's are superior in feel and balance IMO.

 

Now.................when are you going to try the Bridgestone J33R driver? It feels great, and is super long. However - it's not for slicers/hookers. This driver is VERY neutrally weighted and setup. My backup is a J33R 9.5* with a spined Aldila NV. It's a Cannon.

 

 

Oh - did I forget the WEDGES? They're great as well. As you can tell - I'm turning into a complete Bridgestone HO. :fool:

I like your bag, we seem to use a lot of the same sticks, with the Titleist 980F woods and the Scotty putter, I am posting a photo of my bag as well.

 

Anyway, I hit the Z101s again today and I will definitely keep these. Thanks for the info on the driver but guess what?, I already have the J33 460cc 9.5* driver in my bag with an Aldila NVS 65 shaft and I absolutely love it, hits it long and then just runs forever. Nice piercing trajectory, no high balls with this one. I also have the 3 wood, another exceptional club. I'm looking for a nice deal on the wedges as well, although it will be tough to part with my trusty Cleveland 588s. I use the B330s ball, just as good as the Pro V 1 I have been using. I agree with you, Bridgestone products are a great addition to the American market.
