2009 Nike One Tour, Tour D and Vapor Balls

I am wondering if anyone has any reviews of the new Nike One golf balls

Tour D

 

Most interested in a performance comparison between them and the Nike One Platinum/Black, Pro V1/V1x, Bridgestone 09 B330, B330s and any others....

Saw them all at Golf Galaxy today. Unfortunately, there's 12 inches of snow on the ground and another 6 -8 inches coming tomorrow .... it's gonna be a while before I get a chance to test these out.

i checked there before i posted this (and just now) and all that i can see is the Nike One platinum/black, the Juice and the karma......i saw them the other day in a golf shop up here in Canada the staff hadnt tried and the ground up here is like cement, too damn cold!!!

I tried the Tour D nice ball my I think it is the replacement for the one black Nike has never been my number one ball I am a Callaway i or Pro V fan but my friend who loves the one black liked it a lot.

I got a sample of the Nike Tour D last fall before snow fell. I liked it a bunch. I have played Nike Black for 2 seasons and found this to be an improvement. I lean towards the Black because I spin the Platinum too much off the driver and always found the Black to be longer--but at the cost of greenside spin.

 

The Tour D was longer than my Black's with every club in the bag, and spinnier (is that a word ?) around the green. I am looking forward to playing the D full time next year.

 

Vapor sounds promising. Good ball performance at a good price. I saw a lot of mid to low handicap players using the Juice because it offered a good comprimise. I think the Vapor should too.

i'm so not a fan of these balls. They are basically the exact same technology as the last platinum/black models but the stampings look awful and the balls don't spin as much around the greens. Boo to nike for these imo.

Played the Tour D for a whole round the other day (they were sold out of my ProV1xs). IMO...

 

Played a little shorter than my usual ProV1x. Played about 1/2 club more to greens after I came up short on a pured wedge on #2. Put me right on distance.

 

Mixed feelings on spin. On a couple of wedges, spun back off the green (ProV1x for me stops where it lands). Other full irons hit and sat. More testing needed.

 

Putts did not feel as good as my ProV1x. This is the feature that I have really liked from the Titleist, the feel off the putter. May just take getting used to.

 

Overall, not a bad ball at all! I hit 8 Fairways and 8 GIR...pretty good for me (15 hdcp). Worth giving it some more work. Can't wait to try some 09 ProV1x's though. Gonna take a great ball to get that out of my bag.

Played 9 holes with the Vapor yesterday and it was ok. It seems to be designed for my swingspeed.

 

- Feels pretty soft (too soft for me). I prefer a harder feeling ball.

- Distance is pretty good, but not longer than the TP Black or V1x for me.

- Spin is decent. On well struck short irons, I was getting a hop and about 1-2 feet of roll.

 

For this price range, I still like the e5 best.
