Taylor Made R510 Deep Face auction

Seller asynergy on Ebay sold me a R510, got it today and serial number had been grounded plus .350 tip that had been shimmed. Here is the original auction but mine was an 8.5, same type of ad though. My ad clearly said ".335" tip.

I can't prove he knew it was a retail head, i got burned. Good feedback though. Very confused. Buyer beware huh? If i get this resolved I'll edit post.

that is a true prototype R510DF and the first one to come out and some of them have shims in it like the Taylor Made Ti360! Also, the hosel was never EVER grounded off to take the serial #'s because the R510DF with the "Titanium" on the toe NEVER ever had a serial #!

I am no expert, but if the 5 is underlined and it has titanium on the toe combined with no s/n I would say its true....

My question is this.......Is this R510 ? DF.....Titanium on toe.......but 390cc........What is it? There isn't anything that is 390 cc that isn't either Retail R510 TP or TP Tour....OR.....R510 DF Proto with titanium on the toe, most, if not all are .335 hosel size. If this is 390 cc R510, doesn't it have DF proto whether it's .350 or .335 hosel size? I'd hope someone would clear this up if they could.

By the way, I'm not sticking up for this ebay seller nor do I know the guy, I did think the face on picture of this driver looked fishy to me. If the 330 cc retail model or the 390 cc retail TP model or the DF Proto model can be confirmed that would shed light on this subject. The picture at address makes this driver look more like the R540 DF or R540XD TP. Anyone else?

Your not the only one of his buyers to question him on it. He had an auction that ended on Sept 7 with the same problem.

Yes it does have the underline on the loft. But i've never heard of a R510 tour have a .350 tip. Under a magnifying glass we could see what was left over from the serial #. THe head is in great shape but this dude swears it's "tour". I think either he knows it's not tour or he's being supplied by someone feeding him bad info. I def. paid extra expecting a true .335 tip tour head. He offered money back if I send the head back but at this point i can't trust him. SUx.

The head does weigh 206grams which is heavier then my last R510 TP which was 201grams. Not sure if Retail heads were this heavy. The head looks exactly like my last R510 TP.

I suppose it's possible someone on tour wanted a hosel reamed out to fit a .350 shaft but I've never seen it nor would I understand why. Not sure I'd trust at this point either, especially with teh serial number ground off. To my knowledge no DF's ever had serial numbers.....NONE.

If memory serves, even the retail "TP" were .335's, so if the 5 is underlined and the titanium is on the toe, I think its tour. It could be a very early head which I have heard rumours have had odd hosel sizes or maybe someone drilled it out for a .350 shaft....unlikely but who knows...

Good point. It's def. not a TM copy, it's real, just weird with the .350 hosel. I'll find out Thursday when I hit it, had to shim it and installed Diamana 83x. Never been burned on Ebay.

Just to let everyone one know that ASYNERGY on ebay and the member moradgolfer13 is my uncle, he is very reliable and credible, he has great knowledge of tour issue golf clubs, and even had exclusive contacts a while back ago. I am letting everyone know here on this forum that this guy is not a scam artist but a guy who is honest and will do whatever it takes to make the customer happy, Guys, you should know your tour issue equipment before hand and ask before making a purchase and complaining about the specifics about it or the history. Everyone who buys tour equipment from Asynergy on ebay is well insured and in great hands when purchasing great equipment.

With this great site, there is a tool called "SEARCH". This site has ALOT of archived info on almost EVERYTHING related to golf clubs and "what they should" or "what they should not" be.

If you don't look here first and If it isn't here...BUYER BEWARE!!

I think the biggest thing in question was the fact that dtrain wondered about his club because it had a .350 hosel, just like most all TM retail offerings, when 99.9999% of all tour heads are reamed at .335. Just because it "looks" the same doesn't mean anything.

Furthermore, dtrain is the one questioning this club and according to his most recent post, it has been resolved. Therefore, there is no more need to banter this topic and potentially scar reputations any further. As long as Asynergy and dtrain are square on this, all is good. I would remind you both to use the Golfwrx feedback function so reputations can be built here as well, and members can always know their sellers history on Golfwrx.
