Am experimenting at bit the moment.

Bought the wife a few well priced Nickent Hybrids (Regular Shafts) and I gave them a go. Have never hit the 3DX DC's so well & straight, so I swapped her and will change the stiff shafts out of mine to ladies for her.

My SS is up around 105, but I can't seem to get the stiff shafts working in those hybrids.

 

The Driver came at a red hot price, so I wasn't too concerned in the shaft. I will probably drop it back to a stiff in the future. But at the moment I am not having any dramas hitting it straight or long.

 

It's all a work in progress!

Quick update!

 

Shaft change in my driver- Stock TM Rombax TP 75 X Flex out. UST Proforce Tour Reserve 75 S Flex In.

 

Will give it a try this weekend. :)

 

3 Wood is gone, gap filled quite easily by the 15° hybrid.

 

Mizuno Fli Hi 24° Hybrid on it's way to help fill the gap between 6i & 20° Ironwood.

It's currently fitted with a DG S300 shaft, will see how it goes.

If it doesn't work I'll drop a 78gm Irod hybrid shaft in & give it a try.

Driver shaft change has made a difference. Also I've worked on shortening my backswing, increased accuracy with no loss of distance. Win Win!

 

Mizuno T-Zoid Fli Hi arrived, goes well from both fairway & rough. Great for punching out of trouble!

I may look to put the 3W back in play at some stage, but for now I'm happy enough with the Hybrids. More consistent, with just as much distance.

Didn't last long, did I! MacGregor 3w in transit, bargain price I couldn't say no to really.
Also in the process of swapping the S300's in my irons out for some R300's.
Next to change... All the hybrids. Going to install 78gm Reg flex Irods all round.

Took the re-shafted irons out for a crack this morning. Hit about 40 Balls with 6 iron. Most landed around 155-160mt & within a 10-15mt circle. Still sprayed a few, but no-where near as bad as before.
Same story with PW, most within a 10mt circle of the 100mt marker.

I've decided to add a 4 & 5 iron. Found a set of heads on here, so I'll stick some R300's in the 4 & 5. They're in transit, should be here next week.

Will hang onto the 3DX Ironwood & Macgregor MT Fairway. Both are having Irods fitted this weekend. Have benched the 3DX DC Utility, as I've gone back to a 3W instead. Time will tell if that change will be made permanent.

 

I'll then reshaft the remaining 6-PW with the S300 pullouts I've got laying around, and will add the Mizuno T-Zoid Fli-Hi 24° Utility & Callaway X Tour Vintage 50° into the package. Got a mate up north that I'll sell these to cheap cheap.

 

Bought a new bag today too, Taylor Made Monaco cart bag. All the usual features, 14 dividers etc.

 

Also spotted a CG14 52° wedge sitting in the 2nd hand bin at the golf shop for $80 AU. Had to snap it up!

Only been hit a handful of times, looks brand new!

Cleveland Niblick 42° is also in the bag, once I work out where it fits in I'll decide which club to drop in it's place.

Have now benched the Callaway & Mizuno wedges, and have purchased 2x CG 14 Wedges (56° & 60°) to match the 52°.
In transit from 3Balls, should be here end of the week.

Wedges have arrived, had a quick hit at the practice green this afternoon.
All I can say is WOW. Stop & drop greenside control is going to come in very handy with our super slick greens! Normally I'm running them off the back, but these pulled up nicely each time. Fantastic clubs.
Have dropped the PW in favour of the Niblick, it did the job quite well from 100mt & in on the weekend so it can stay in for now.
X Tour heads also arrived today, so I'll get the 4 & 5 shafted this weekend.

Am on the hunt for some new irons. The X Tours are great when I'm swinging well, but I need something a bit easier to hit when my swing is off.
Currently have my eye on some R9's, Burner 09's or Cobra S2/SZ's.

X Tours are ggoonnee. Ordered 4-PW Burner 09's fitted with Superfast 85 shafts.
Tried them next to the Cobra S2's, and the Burners came out on top.
Can't wait for them to arrive!

Also picked up a SC Newport 2 Putter, bargain price!

New irons arrived a week ago. 27 holes later, I'm impressed.
Haven't hit my irons this well for years!
Am that confident with the Burners, I've decided to drop all hybrids and will be putting a 3 Iron back into play shortly.

The Scotty is also doing a fantastic job, 27 holes now and still no sign of a 3 putt.

Was given a Diablo Fairway for my birthday from my lovely wife. It's stupid easy to hit from both the tee and the deck.
I was hitting balls off crap lies at the range, and they still went miles. So the Macgregor MT Fairway is out!
