Srixon Trispeed

Hi All,

 

I've been playing the Callaway HX Hot for the last season but I find it a little hard.

I would like to find something softer but with low driver spin.

I've looked at the Bridgestone E6+ and am thinking about switching to that ball.

Someone mentioned that I should try the Srixon Trispeed.

Has anyone played with the Truispeed?

How does it compare to the HX Hot or E6+

IMHO, the Trispeed is one of the best balls for the money out there. I love the feel off the putter and it is very straight and long off of the tee. I think it is very good around the greens as well.

The Trispeed is an absolutely great ball. It is soft, long and has decent greenside spin. The HX Hot is much harder and clickier. I don't like the feel of the E6+ -- though its softer than the HX Hot, its still "clicky" to me and I don't like the way it comes off the putter. The Trispeed, well, you can almost feel the ball in your hands through the shaft as the putter face taps it. Its a great ball.

I'll have to give it a try. Whats the difference between the Srixon Z-URS and the Trispeed? I could not find them on the Srixon website.

cover material. the Z-URS is thermoplastic urethane, while the Trispeed utilizes "Rabalon", a soft thermoplastic elastomer. the Trispeed also has a slightly softer core. the Z-URS has more greenside spin due to the urethane cover.

it has a bit more driver spin, but it's not a significant difference. the Z-URS and Trispeed perform very similarly off the driver.

I have played Trispeed a lot. It is a good ball, long and soft of the irons, but somehow I don't like the feel off the putter.

 

You have to try the new Callaway Hx Hot Plus. Much softer off the putter compared to the old Hx Hot and Trisped, but not as soft as Trispeed off the irons.

I currently play the B330 Rx but the other day I was short on balls so I bought a sleeve of Trispeeds. Anyway, I played a round and didn't care for them. They felt too firm and lack spin on the greens. They're not for me and thanks my 2 cents.

I didn't like the TriSpeeds either. However, I did like the AD-333. I bought a dozen and toss 'em in with my B330-RXs (which I've come to favor over the e6+). I don't know that my game is consistent enough to say I can tell which one is better ... but I do like the feel of the AD-333. http://www.srixon.com/balls_ad333.html

The TriSpeed is long off the tee, but the lack of greenside control/spin around the green and clicky feel/sound off the putter is a deal-breaker for me. IMHO, the Wilson Fifty offers FAR better overall performance. Check out Wedge Spin results in the 2008 Golf Mag ball tests (see link below) to see what I'm talking about. The numbers speak for themselves.....
