Callaway's new putter line

Any Info?

I heard recently from a friend that Cally's new line of putter's will be coming out soon. These new putter's are supposedly to have the softest face material yet to be in a putter. He said that the number 7 model is a hot buy already. I'm just wondering if anybody else knows anything about this new line. I think Fred Funk may be using a certain model, because I saw a pic from a earlier thread. Just throwing it out there. :drinks:

I'm not sure that softer is better. There comes a point where you can't FEEL the putt.

 

I'd like to see Callaway 'sign' T.P. Mills to start doing their putters. ala Cameron/Titleist. I think there is a lot of work to be done with their putters.

No, there are Callaway putters as well; and they are quite nice.

The old Callaway ones were milled by bettinardi and that didn't even help the Callaway Putters. Plus there is a rumor going around about Mills making protos for the Nike players, in which Nike tried to aquire Bettinardi but since they said he couldn't put his name on the putters he wanted nothing to do with Nike.....

I've putted with #7 and it's really a neat concept although it looks like the idea came from Star Trek's Enterprise starship.

kyle.... Bettinardi was under the Hogan umbrella which was under the Callaway umbrella for a few years that Bett was with them.

I saw them being milled with my own 2 eyes at the Bettinardi plant. I hope this helps.

Kyle, if you look at my previous post, I said that Bettinardi made the I-TRAX. I saw them being milled every time I went to the plant. Roger Cleveland did not make them. I have no idea where you got your information from, but it is for sure incorrect as I am honest person and I would not make something like this up. Just trying to help as you received wrong information. I saw them being made with my own 2 eyes. I picked them up and held them in my hand. They are made by Bettinardi only. I think the original poster was talking about the new Odyssey White Hot XG putters (Odyssey being a brand owned by Callaway). The #7 in that series is mallet with two wings out the back and sharp angles. Very funky. The line has two inserts: A very soft red insert on the inside, then a thin white insert on the outside that is more durable and keeps the inner insert from getting scuffed up.

 

Bettinardi was invovled with the I-Trax putter for Callaway. He's now with Mizuno. Saw his new stuff at the PGA Show. Looks like his old stuff, which is to say great. His Ben Hogan (Callaway)-branded stuff is on clearance now, good deals to be found.

Yea, I think the original poster is talking about the XG line. They do look really soft and soft putters have no feed back. I cannot hit any oddysey putters after trying using bettinardies and camerons.
