Bushnell rebate program is not sincere

really simple...go to Watts and explain the situation. They want you as a customer and will handle it. Bushnells rebates are truly a pain as far as the turnaround time...but that should be the only hassle. Watts wants your business, they aren't going to tell you to get lost. It won't be a problem for them to fix it, just a couple phone calls.

what you dont know about rebates :

often times they are not handled by the company themselves, they are contracted out to a third party and believe it or not it's not always in their best interest for your rebate to pass, if fact the more rebates they end up on the deny list the more they (the third party) can profit.

I'm going to go ahead and speak up here. I work for a large rebate processing company and that is 100% false. We don't make any extra money if any customer rebates are denied. The funds are usually drawn directly out of the manufacturer's bank account to pay the rebate and we are just paid a set processing fee per each submission received regardless if the customer is paid or not. The only additional money we take in on a validated submission vs a non-validated is the postage to mail a check which is passed through (we don't make a profit on this).

In addition, with the multi-million rebates we process a year it is all done systematically. The form, receipt, UPC are all scanned and matched up to the requirements by computer, not people so we don't decide who gets the rebate and who doesn't. If you send in all your items and bought the correct product within the correct dates you will receive the rebate, no tricks. We actually monitor invalid rates to make sure people who are supposed to get the rebate DO get the rebate. The industry standard is around 10-15% invalid for people that didn't follow directions.

In this case the box was thrown away, honest mistake. I would call the 1-800 number on the form and explain what happened. Some clients dictate to the rebate processing company that they want to be lenient, some clients prefer to go by the letter of the law. Just call the customer service number, explain your situation and see what they say.

OK, OK, I almost never get a rebate on anything I buy. And because of that I am not use to filling out forms and sending them in. I just thought that they were over zealous in requesting documentation in order to get the rebate. I don't know a UPC from adam. Since most of you think I was in error, I will give them another chance. Thanks for your comments. I do appreciate it. Now quit reading this and get out there and break 80. KOS-
