Birdie practice ball

As a father of three I spend a majority of my practice time hitting balls in the back yard. I am only able to get to a driving range about once a week. I have spent countless hours chipping real balls, hitting the orange Callaway practice balls (distance will allow me to only use a PW), or hitting long clubs with foam (no coating), or wiffle balls. I also have a nine hole PW home course that I play with friends and relatives using the orange foam for full shots and real balls to chip to the target. All of this practice has helped my swing a ton. However, there is only so much you can do with wiffle and foam balls.

In an ever ending saga to make my mini course better I was searching for a better practice ball that I could use my longer clubs with. I came across birdie balls on the web. They sounded nice but they were made of a hard plastic. However, after watching a few demos on their web site I decided to give the company a call.

When I called the company the person sounded just like the owner of the company who was in a number of the demo videos. I asked him how much damage the balls would do to a window. The man explained that although the balls are hard they loose a great amount of speed as they fly. As long as the window was a good distance from where it was hit the impact “should “be safe for windows and cars. The man went on further to say he hit his neighbor’s picture window square with his second hit and it did not break it.

I ordered a set of 12 birdie balls and a set of special foam tees to test out. After receiving my order all I can say is wow. These balls are addicting to hit. There weight feel just like a real ball when hit. The flight was restricted but had an uncanny “mini flight version” of hitting a real ball. So far I have hit a few windows (near end of flight) with no damage. I can also hit every club on my mini course. I can not say enough positive things about these balls. I believe their feel and flight path will greatly help my game. They are very fun to hit.

I use them as well and agree with you. I've found nothing else that feels like hitting a real ball without the need for 100 yards or more space. They are great for playing "catch" with someone else as well.

I didn't know they had a foam tee now.....where did you purchase from?

I ordered the tees over the phone. The number is on the birdie ball web site. They are foam triangles in the shape of a wooden door stop. They are simple but work well. A pack comes with two tees and a ball. If you order a dozen balls they are discounted.

I have been hitting the tar out of these. I feel like I have a range session every day now. I have a golf tournament tomorrow so the proof will be in the pudding as they say. I can't wait to be on the course.
