Z-star v Nike One Tour

my findings

So I ordered a couple of two ball sleeves of the One Tour the last time I ordered from TGW. I was hoping to like these but I really did not. It felt squishy of the irons, although they did seem to have a lot of spin, but were shorter with the longer clubs including driver and my 4 wood. They also wanted to go off course more. I switched back and forth between the z-star and the one tour and there just was no comparison for me. The z-star was longer, much straighter and had great spin off irons and wedges. It is definitely the best ball I've played this season.

You found the One Tour to be squishier than the Z Star? I found the Z Star to be the softest ball I have played in a long time. I find the One Tour to be firmer than the Z Star especially on off center hits. When your hitting the ball well they feel as good as any ball I have played. Your right the One Tour spins more off of the irons than the Z Star which may lead to more side spin as you are seeing. I love the lower more penetrating flight of the One Tour. I find that I hit it longer than the Z Star. It is not that the Z Star balloons but it launches higher for me and I think that leads to the less distance. I don't think that you can go wrong with either ball and it is all about what suits your game and feel. If you have any extra One Tours send them my way, lol.

The z-star does not feel squishy to me. It actually feels just right. You're right it does launch a bit higher than the one tour and I guess I prefer a higher launch. I got probably half a club or more with the z-star than the one tour. It is about what fits your game, and overall I'm glad I tested it out, even though I don't think it's right for me. I have one left, I'll probably just add it to my short game shag bag, and keep playing with it there.

I switched to one tour as the z star is hard to stop with one hop stops and has less spin than one tour .
For greenside spin one tour is way better than Zstar .

Interesting. I have no problem stopping the z-star. Actually I spun one back off the green today. But typically, they one hop and stop. Actually for me they are stopping about 1 foot from the pitchmark which is just fine by me as I can go right at the pin. They're even stopping for me with a four-iron. I hit one from 205, and it stopped about 4 feet from its pitch mark.

I too found the same thing. Chips and pitches were not checking up like I thought they would. I really really wanted to love the ball and I recommend it to everyone I think that it will fit. I like to be able to hit a very low skipping spinner that takes a couple hops and sits dead. The One Tour fits my game for this shot and all the others I like to play. The Z Star is a great ball but if they could get it to spin just a touch more on the little pitches and chips I would be sold. I am very pleased with the One Tour. Guess it just boils down to what you are looking for in a ball. Both balls are very solid.
