masters and equipment changes

what's in the bag

hi all:i have been hearing over the last week that a number of players at the masters this week will be putting an extra long game club in the bag weather that be a hybrid,another fwd ect.can some one give me names of some players and the equipment changes they made for this weeks masters?thanks :stop:

all i know is phil will have 2 drivers and mike weir had alot of woods in the bag during practice

heard on the golf channel last night Freddy Funk went to a 19* rescue from the 3 iron. Also Davis Love had a 4 1/2 wood made up special for this week.

I put a 6th driver in my bag in preparation for the Masters.

I was there for the Monday practice round and there were a lot of fairway woods/hybrids in the bags. I saw Ames hit hybrid on 4 and he smoked to the very front edge of the bunker and then hit another with a 3 wood to about 15 ft. All he said was "that is all I got". It was pretty funny. That hole is a monster eventhough it is downhill. Number 11 will eat some lunches as well. The course is fast and the greens are slick but everything is in awesome shape.

makes me wonder if my tm rescue dual 19* and 21* 3 iron are too close?

Tom Watson had a Bobby Grace MOI GT Mini in play today. That's a far cry from his old Ping (Pal, I think) that he has used for most of the last 20 years.

The BBC had a WITB interview with Ernies caddy (practice round ?), he said they were debating whether to go with the 5 wood or 2 Iron, he also had two putters in the bag, the usual anser style and centre shafted model, he said that Enrie wasn't so confident on the greens since his comeback from the knee injury and was trying something new, he did use the centre shaft in round one. The most interesting bit was the Driver, his caddy said Enrie could actually work the ball with the 460CC Titleist easier than the previous model he was using.

 

Good interview and great close ups of the clubs + taking the headcovers off :stop: I wish they'd do it more often!

i saw this also and was really really shocked - especially at how close we got to see his clubs....! and i was also surprized when he said ernie coulld work the big boy better than his previous! Made me wanna go and buy a 905R .....their strategy is working!

Interesting, I dont know why he would hit the 905R better than thwe 905T but he is a different animal to us mere mortals.
