SG5 Upgrade

Just plugged in my SG5 and was prompted to upgrade the device software. Anyone know what the update was for? Version 3.77 now on-board.

Anytime you plug your unit to a PC and SkyGolf web site, it automatically checks and make sure your running the latest version of software. That's why you pay a fee and in my opinion the best unit on the market. It's also important to sync your unit every month or at least a couple times a year to make sure you have the latest upgrade. From what I'm finding out, is that most up-grades can be from re-mapping courses or just running better. Last year I found out they had at least 6 updates and if you didn't sync back to site, your unit could be slowed to locking in on a number, less accurate, and not as constant. Good Luck!

Actually I sync my unit twice per week with different courses I play. The new update came it yesterday and I had already sync'd on the previous Sunday. Just wondering if anyone knows what the update fixed or included.

Sorry, I wish I knew too. I guess it's like Windows on my PC telling me they just made an update. Never know what it's for, but just happens. Good Luck, if you find out let know.

Below is the transcript from a chat session I just had with a Sky Golf representative. Not much information but a little more of an understanding than what has been supplied so far.


Me: I was just curious what software update 3.77 was in regards to on my SG5. I went to sync this morning and seen the update buy SkyCaddie doesn't do a very good job at including a description of what the update entails.Sky Golf: It is a test that we are running it is for green contours.

Me: Ok, so nothing that would be visible to me?

Sky Golf: You may notice but more than likely it will not affect your usage.

Me: Speaking of green contours; how is the implementation of the intelli green plus coming along?

Sky Golf: Its coming along hopefully it will be out soon this a first step in the processes so soon.
