The reason that I would like to win these irons is simple, to give my friend a real set of irons. His family has been in an unstable financial situation since his dad got out of the army, and his house recently got foreclosed. I play golf with him and his dad every single day, and its hard not to avoid noticing that his game cannot improve with his 1990s Taylormade Burner blades. They are very unforgiving, and they have been hit so much, that much of the feel is gone. I got myself a good set of irons-Ben Hogan Apex 2006s, but he doesnt have the money to get irons, even used, at this time. What is ironic is that he wants to work more for our golf course (a $100 a month little course here in Lousiana), but he has only been asked to work for 6 hours in the past 4 weeks, so he only has $40 put together.
So make no mistake, he really wants to get some new irons, in time for our spring golf season in school, but he cannot buy irons probably until X-mas. If I won these irons, I would give them to him in a heartbeat, he really likes Cleveland clubs, and he loves blades. If he got a Cleveland set, he would get the only Cleveland blades, the Cg7s. If he cant afford them for Christmas, he will probably end up with the older Bridgestone J33s.
I hope I have a chance to win, because it would be a great present for me to give to someone that I KNOW deserves them more than many others.
