Getting name stitched on bag??

Im looking for some opinions..

I was looking at my extra bag earlier this evening, and thinking about getting my name stitched to it for tournament use... the thing is, it isnt a staff bag.. although it is quite large.. here it is...



im thinking on the bottom pouch, or the cooler pouch ( middle) under the swoosh..

whats your 2 cents??

Bottom pouch...white stiching...decent size font so it's easily legible. Should look good as far as my .02 are concerned

This probably won't help but.. If you want to do it do it! It is your bag so don't worry about what others may think.

Can the pocket be completely removed from the bag?

no, but it can be opened up so that there is about an inch of non zipper holding it on... its hard to explain.. if you can see the little white stitching on the bottom pouch coming from both left and right to the bottom the black space between each line at the bottom is the only non zipper part

good point i suppose.. i really only participate in 5-10 tournys a year, mostly local and recreational.. thats for your input.

whatever you do, dont get cursive font.... It is hard to read. We got it on our HS bags this year and it looks like Crap...

Less and less people have staff bags. At the US Amateur Public Links this year, there was only one (and I was carrying it). All the guys had ordinary carry bags and many had their name stitched on it. Same thing at the US Open sectional I was at this summer.

As Chris says, avoid any weird font. Use a no frills font, preferably Helvetica or something similar without serifs like this. I also recommend all caps.

...And remember you'll feel bad every time you miss a shot and your bag is near.

hey man, who did you take your bag to.. not a specific company, but a proshop? a skilled sewer( for lack of a better term), or a cresting company..

i got the bottom pocket to come totally off, so it will be much easier now

Unless you are a pro, or at least a top ranked amateur (qualifying for tournaments at the state and national level), or a member of a school golf team, I think it looks pretty pretentious. But, thats just me.

I've always felt I needed to have a pretty impressive game before anyone outside my foursome cared what my name was.

But, Lucf's right, when you have a bad shot, u'll definitely feel bad seeing yr name on the bag!
