your weight seems very stacked on your front foot, also you come very in to out, try getting a little bit steeper and throw tthe club to left on your follow through hope this helps. basically even out your weight

not trying to thread jack but this video of me might help you understand the steeper
plane the guy was talking about....and when you figure your weight out keep ur balnce centered....i found once i stopped drifting forward my swing got a lot more compact and powerful

It looks like your grip is pretty weak.......I had a similar looking backswing until I changed my grip about a year ago.

Check out Jeff Evan's thread about the "Strong Single Action Grip" to understand what your grip should look like.

Grip, Stance, Posture, and Alignment........If you can get those things correct, a lot of problems will disappear.

The primary problem is not with your swing plane at all. The DTL shot shows pretty clearly that you are flipping the club way inside with the first move away from the ball (with your hands and wrists), and then you have to flip it really hard at impact with a slap release. Do you have what is called a short thumb with your left hand, or do you extend that thumb a little ways down the shaft in your grip? If your thumb is tucked up too much, it might make your hands too flippy in the swing.

Once you quiet your hands and are able to keep the club more in front of you as you swing, you will get rid of what the other posters are calling a too flat swing plane. The fact of the matter is there is no good reason to swing the club on a steep upright plane, as long as you are keeping the club in front of your chest while you swing. Right now, at the top of your backswing, your club is not really in front of you at the top, and the over-active hands, especially early in the takeaway, are the culprit

Hope this helps.

your turning your hips way to much and you start your swing with your hips i used to do the same thing. if you dont turn your hips as much you will hit it way straighter and way farther trust me. also as someone else said all of your weight is stacked on your front foot try and complete a full turn with a little more weight on your back foot.

Hey Skinny -

You've got a nice swing and you obviously have a good mindset and talent for contact/impact, which is the most important piece. Nice smooth tempo, you stay down through the ball and have a beautiful balance and finish.

The big thing I notice isn't your swing, but your club - it looks way to heavy and long for someone so young! That would tend to make you swing more flat/around your body. A heavy club actually helps you train and build a good swing (because it's almost impossible to come over the top) but for everyday playing you should go to a pro and he can recommend a fitting option for you. It's remarkable you can make such good contact with a heavy club, because at your age/weight the club is throwing you around quite a bit.

Before anything, make sure you have the right clubs! I think you'll almost automatically get into a more traditional position at the top and start hitting better shots. Think about it in ratios - Tiger is 6'1" and 185 lbs, and his clubs are probably just a little longer and about the same weight as the one you're using there - get it to scale and you will look more like young Tiger! :-)

Hope that helps

In fact, your MP14's with dynamic golds would be almost exactly like the irons Tiger was playing when he was just getting full grown and packing on all that muscle through college and turning pro

If you can find a shorter club with a lighter shaft/head, would love to see you swing that. I bet it would help so many things in your swing.

Thanks for the help. well everything has been clicking I have been playing great, but here's the problem I pay for everything and dont plan on getting anything new till I can. the only other set of irons I have are thease:[attachment=545395:wilson staffs.jpg] OLD wilson staff's and they are lighter because they are so small I would hit them But i loose 15 yards compared to the MP-14's. BTW i changed to a overlap and that feel's alot better.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
