UPDATED WITB!! NEW CLUBS AND PICS!

Recommended Posts

**TM/CALLAWAY/TITLEIST/SCOTTY/MIZUNO**
This is my new bag for 2010, and since i'm broke it will stay that way for quite some time haha :russian_roulette: oh, and greetings from down under! I would go outside to take the pics, but its around 42* C outside and its like a furnace!

ALL CLUBS COME WITH STOCK SHAFTS... (as i said, i'm broke :busted2:)

Driver: Taylormade R9 460 (i just couldnt hit the R9 to save myself)
DSC_0072.jpg
Since i switched from my old HiBore XLS to the R9 460, the amount of fairways i'm hitting has increased tenfold! Well, maybe not that much but you get the point! Gained about 10-15 metres with a much nicer trajectory, i felt that my HiBore hit it way too low for my liking. Picked it up on sale from Drummond, at $400.

3 Wood: Callaway X 15*
DSC_0056.jpg
This club really is the 'Jekyll and Hyde' club of my bag. I can either hit it really well on days.... or really badly. Still goes a mile whether or not i hit it pure, just how straight it goes in the main question :P On sale again (all my clubs were) for $175.

Hybrid: Taylormade Burner (07 i think..) 22*
DSC_0057.jpg
Picked this baby up on sale from Drummond at about $150, a goooood buy IMO. Can shape in both ways and can hit it high or low when needed, and oddly enough i hit it higher than my 7 iron :beach:

Irons: 3-PW Mizuno MP-57
DSC_0058.jpg
Bought these on sale, for $1000 from Golf Box and i honestly didnt see much of a difference in how forgiving it was, coming from using the MX-900s, the supposed most forgiving club in the Mizuno range. Didnt lose any height but certainly gained distance, the first round i put these into play (which was incidentally the same round i first used the R9 460) i shot my best of 76, so i'm over the moon with these! :good:

Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM 54*, 60*
DSC_0060.jpg
Could have gone with the 52, 56, 60 setup, but opted to go with the cheaper setup in order to save for the irons :beruo: After about 5 months of good use (especially the 60*) both clubs can still rip the ball back, when i need it most, so i love them for it haha :man_in_love: Black satin finish on these.

Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport

DSC_0066.jpg
My favourite club in the bag, simply because i believe in karma and if i dont love him he will come back and bite me on the Word not allowed lol. No sight line, which i didnt really like at first sight but now i've grown to like it, as it feels like i make a better stroke without a sight line (maybe it puts me off?!?)

All the sticks:

Bag: Mizuno Aerolite?
DSC_0054.jpg
I'm not actually sure, i got it from Malaysia when on holiday and havent been able to match it to any others i've seen lol

Last but not least, my lucky Mount Lawley Golf Club ball marker... why is it lucky? Because the first round i used it i not only shot my lowest score but holed out from about 145 for my first eagle ever :D so i've kept him ever since!DSC_0069.jpg

put it this way: the irons are the best golf purchase i believe i have ever made. coming from using the SGI MX-900s i thought it would be a huge change in forgiveness but i was pleasantly surprised when i hit the MP's for the first time. when i hit it pure its very easy to shape but still isnt that hard to hit.. and yes, they do feel like butter ;) very happy with them

and the amount of money we have to pay compared to our american cousins is ridiculous!:russian_roulette: if you go on the titleist website and look up the prices, scotty camerons are $300 USD and $500 AUD!! it gets very annoying going to shops like drummond and getting ripped off, but luckily i wont have to do that for a while! :partytime2:

i know where you guys are coming from. i really wanna actually get some clubs fitted for me but at the price drummond charges I really can't afford to do that and have decent brand clubs. so for now i guess its ebay for me still :russian_roulette:

and i was looking on an american site and know exactly what you mean about the camerons. and TM Burner 09 drivers are US$200 and A$350-$400. man i wished i could get those kinds of retail prices :shout:

What seemed to be your problem with the R9? nice sticks. can you please remove the shaft stickers thanks.
I hit about 20 or so drives with the R9, and hit it okay but had a lot of misses left. So i opted for the 'more forgiving' R9 460 and it was much straighter (for me) than the R9.

you would be surprised how cheap you can get stuff i feel bad that you paid
1000$ for those irons though, i got brand new 67's for 520$ cdn shipped :)
sick set though the r9 460 is longer then the normal r9 anyways

yeh man i see where you're coming from, i'm just trying to illustrate the point that everything here in aus is extremely overpriced and even when stuff like that is on 'sale' it still costs an arm and a leg! and yeh i was gaining much more distance with the 460. partytime2.gif

ya very true....how expensive is the golf over there though for most memeberships and what not

for juniors such as myself it isnt too bad, from anywhere between $200-$800 a year (my club's ranked about 50th in australia), but then for a full male membership it could be from around $1200-$5000 depending on the club you go to and its facilities. i saw a club in gold digest which had its yearly subs at $6000! entrance fees are very hefty as well, some are double the yearly fee! russian_roulette.gif

hmm bout the same....
you guys just need a sick club making company
to start up over there so its cheaper for you
yeh a lot of smaller companies are trying to move their way into the main market but its almost impossible due to the high demand for big companies like Titleist and Callaway... right now all the clubs being made by emerging companies are in the junior/low end section. but hopefully they get there!:partytime2:

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
