i swing very hard with my driver, my irons i actually take a more conservative swing and use one more club. gives me better accuracy.

I've never heard anyone say that going down to a regular shaft added accuracy, but if it works stick with it. Usually a stiffer flex shaft will increase accuracy but decrease distance. I play x shafts in my iron for the same reason you stated. Just the opposite for me. Different strokes for different folks.

i've never been fitted for clubs, so what your saying could be true, i read a lot of stuff online and i came up with the notion that the harder you swing the stiffer shaft you need. and the softer you swign the more flexible shafts will help. any input to help my game is greatly appreciated. by the way i am looking at the new titleist ap2 irons what do you think about them?

just make sure they are not fakes! Fake AP2s from ebay suck.. i got burned by that. As for the Reg shafts in the irons... you will find that a stiffer shaft you would be more accurate ;) regardless of swing speed, with irons its all about tempo and having your body releasing at the right time. Tour guys appear to swing mid to short irons so slowly and they certainly do not use light or regular shafts :)

i know all about counterfeit products off of ebay, i bought a counterfeit callaway FT-5 driver and 3 dozen counterfeit pro V1's, the seller of the AP2's gave me a guarantee of authenticity and serial # of the iron's, oh and i was refunded 100% for the counterfeit balls and driver i bought. the AP2's have DG s400 shafts so hopefully that will increase my accuracy.

nice setup!

I'm no expert by any means, im a 10 handicap. i had my swing speed measured about a week ago and my clubhead speed for my driver was 107 mph. this will shock most people, but i use a regular flex shaft. my irons, i play the 09 burners, with the stock superfast (85 grams) shafts in a stiff flex. ive found that you can get guidance if you want, but only you know what feels right. same thing with a swing, no two people have the same swing. just thought id add my two cents.

p.s. i have the same grips on my irons! good choice!

i've done sessions on a dead solid golf setup and whatever they had at dickssportinggoods and my driver swing speed at dicks was 115 to 120 and on dead solid from 107 to 110, i dont know which is accurate, the dead solid was later in the winter so maybe i wasn't loose?

Nice set my upstate brother! I hit the AP2 just a few weeks ago (my first experience with them) and was just about ready to pull the trigger on them but decided on the Mizzy MP-52's instead. It was neck and neck for me, both clubs felt/feel sweet. I decided basically because of Mizuno's shaft optimizer, but the AP2 were just as good. Good luck and have fun!
