The face is blackened so you can wipe off the impact marks with your thumb so you can see the next strike point. Yes, I'm bias, but I love the thing...

It won't be available until October 15th +/-. We are thinking of pricing it at $179. The Ti head is as pretty and well made as any top line OEM club.

Any forum thoughts or input would be great.

Thanks,

Martin

Martin,

Will it be available in LH?

On a side note, just got my new index from SNGA. Has dropped 3 strokes since beginning of the year :partytime2:
Congrats on your improved play! Atta boy.

No Transplant Canuck could make golf product and not have it in Lefty version. It may be delayed, but we plan to have it.

I went to the range late this afternoon for a practice session with the 7xPro. I got off to a rough start as the old habit of hitting up on the ball came to the fore front. I managed to work through it by focusing on feeling the right arm stretch to its fullest on the follow thru. I also got the feel of the right shoulder crashing into the side of my jaw which helped with the quality of strikes. The ball flight was a a slight draw and long. I managed to work throguh a good number of buckets with solid strikes by keying on the stretch of the right arm on the follow through. If the right arm does not stretch then a bad strike results. My question to those more knowlegable than I is why does this 'feel' of the right arm streching result in good shots with the 7xPro?

Started off great. Lession with a former PGAer that once finished 5th in US Open. His stuff clicked. I bought TS 8I and between the 2 my toe hits stopped and picked up a club lenght. It was short lived. I am now worse than I have been in several years. HItting with the TS is very inconsistent as is my entire game. Very frustrated but will continue to play. Fall/winter I will start with lessions again and hopefully next year will be the breakout year.

Right arm "extensor action" is very important. A skill that often goes unnoticed with better players, is the fact they can straighten out their right arm without flattening their right wrist during impact. When students can't straighten their right arm without flipping their wrist, I'll give them the image of a Karate expert breaking boards with an open palm, only that the board is at a 45 degree angle infront of their left thigh.

I am working on a new proto type (I'll post pics soon) of a gizmo that encourages this motion. I hit balls in it today and love the feel it helps generate.

Too often we "think" we are doing what worked only to find that we have gone down the wrong road. I often tell students, "the aspirin has worked, no need to take the whole bottle." It is easy to "overdue" a good thing until we have moved the needle so far that we hurt our swing motion.

Hang in there!

Pretty darn cool....Hard to give feedback on it - having not tried it - but it looks good.

I'll be honest - there are some people who run their businesses the right way, and their word is good with me. From my experience with you - you are one of them. If you really believe this is as effective a tool as the TS Irons are, I'd probably end up buying it. That said, I'd love the chance to try one out before shelling $200 out for it. (Need a tester? :-))

I received my TS Pro 5 iron today! I know have the 5 iron Pro, 7X Pro and Wedge. I'M sold on this training product as I have seen great results. I'M a hitter of the ball and I find the TS to be a top notch tool in honing my swing (hit). I hoper the driver will be ready for this winter as I will have plenty of time to work with it while in the deep freeze.

Martin, I think I've developed a problem but i might just be doing it wrong. I grip the TS with a fairly neutral grip (2 1/2 knuckles) but since the face is onset, my left hand has developed a feel for the extra weight in it that it wouldn't have with a normal club. Consequently, I grip my normal clubs with what I think is the correct grip, but my left hand has developed a feel for extra weight through the release. So now I grip the club extremely closed (or extremely strong depending on how you look at it) yet I still want to come through impact with the same hand positions. This has led me to hit a billion snap hooks.

(oh by the way, I hit the tour striker fantastically: super compressed, long w/ much better ball flight than when i had before. Its only with regular clubs i grip it way too strong)

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I try to be above board at all times. The driver is fun and challenging. It provides more insights than I thought it would. I took some video yesterday and I'll post it soon. I had a 15 handicapper hit it yesterday and he did better than a 5 handicapper who was all over the face.

May be a youtube video with you using the New driver with some Trackman figures. How the TSDriver will help with our game. I have the TSpro & the wedge & these have help alot & still are. Would also be nice to understand what benfits you have found from testing so far.

I don't have a TM. Want one...

The one I use to use in Bend moved when my buddy took a job out of State. It will be my next big purchase.

Hmmm, first I've heard of this issue. I would hit less shots between switching clubs if the feel is so different for you. You might consider just HOW much lean you are applying to your regular shots. The more lean, generally the more inside out path. Try and back it off to the 4 or 5 degrees needed to hit a great shot. Keep me posted on how you are doing.

Got my 7I TSP yesterday and took her to the range today, luckily there were but 2 others on the grass portion because that was flat out embarrassing. Out of 50-60 cuts I had about 3-4 decent shots lol

I understand the concept but had a hard time actually doing. I felt like the only time it got in the air is when i got frustrated enough and pretended I was chopping wood. Problem is that at such a steep angle (hitting down on the ball), I'd hit the ball first and it'd take off but the club would go straight into the ground thus making a follow through impossible.

Back to the drawing board/range this weekend.

Don't chop down!!! Please, you'll hurt yourself. I want you to be pretty shallow with lean, NOT steep with lean. A lot of poor players can already do that and it isn't working for them.

Start off with 9 to 3 swings. Touch the ground with lean (don't pound) and then when you can touch the ground in the same spot a few times in a row, hit a few ball. Relaxed wrists is the key...

The driver looks pretty nice, are you only targeting the impact placement with this club? I see that the face rounds off at the bottom, is there a reason for this? also it might just be the way the picture was taken but the face seems very tall compared to my 460 driver.
The head looks like most OEM heads nowadays. It's not taller or wider, just similar. The bottom of the face is gone, because that is not the ideal spot to hit a driver. A lot of folks are hitting up too much and catching the ball low in the face. The ball spins too much from that strike and doesn't penetrate.

The primary reason for the club; find your rhythm so your ball is compressed high on the middle of the face. Not home run swings! Just swings that work.

I am sure you have been asked this a million times and forgive me for not searching the thread.....

Which version of the TS should I get...

I am a 6.8 index but could use alot more down and compression on my irons.,,

I can deal with negative feedback and frustration lol.....

Get the 7X. You'll have fun with it or send it back to me in pieces! Either one:)

Hey Martin,

Thanks for answering all the posts.

i have a new question:

I am having a hard time feeling like I'm transferring the lag feel I get from hitting my ts 7 iron into a consistent feel with my driver.

It seems like when i try to lag the driver head into impact I hit high, short fades . . . . whereas the same swing with irons usually produces pretty good golf shots.

. . . . any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ed

if that driver cant get you consistanly hit the middle of the face then nothing can. pair that head with the medicus dual hinge and that would be one hell of a training aid. i was looking to sell my medicus but i may pick up this driver and put the head on my medicus shaft lol

I've had the TSP for two weeks and the wedge for one, and I'm already seeing real improvement. On the range, I have had some very good sessions, and some real dogs. I need to keep reminding myself to maintain my posture and swing smooth and easy.

On the course, I'm getting much more consistent contact, but I'm getting distance like you wouldn't believe. I sure wouldn't have believed it. I hit a 4-iron on a 200-yard par 3 that took off like a bottle rocket and flew the green by 15 yards.

I'm horribly inconsistent on sweet spot contact with the driver, so I'm looking forward to October.....

Nice work, Martin.

Yes! There is not the same force across the shaft with the driver. Don't be afraid of letting the driver "swing" a bit more (longer clubs in general) than mid and short irons. The new TS driver isn't about forward lean or downward strike, it's about high-centered contact on or above the COG.

Hey Martin, I loved the Soft Draw 1.0 pattern that you recommended for me but one question. Doesn't Brian Manzella's term of releasing for soft draws (almost flatten the left wrist for lefties) contradicts the Tour Striker theory? And is it possible to actually hit the TSPX with his one-arm drill of releasing?
No contradictions. The trailing wrist can flatten after the ball is gone. I can't remember the "one-arm" release thought. You can hit the TS with either arm as it doesn't matter as long as the club has a little lean and a little down during impact. Any decent "theory" will support those alignments.

Today I worked with the 5 iron Pro with some very nice results. I was just focusing on putting the ball right down the line at a telephone pole. I hit a few shots that went right down the pipe and jsut stripped that telephone pole. I could not help but think of George Knudson and his flag pole. My other shots were about 10 yards left and right of target. I still have a bit of work to do but given the results I know IM on the right track thus far.

When I played on the Canadian Tour, many moons ago, I made sure to stop by St. Charles Golf and CC in Winnipeg to check out the pole Knudson was talking about when he described his practice as a kid. It was fun to look at that pole and imagine George "painting" it with golf balls.

When I worked for him at his range in Buttonville, Ontario, he had three large poles set at that back of the range. He wanted us to start it at the right pole and bring it back to the center and vice versa on the left pole. Pretty cool visual as you start "taking the poles to the course."

Glad you are having fun with the TS.

Yet another session at the range today with the TS 5 ironPro. I'M still working and I hit some very solid shots with them come straightdown on the telephone pole in the distance. I hit a few pushes and some slices.I'M working on getting my weight completely over to my left side. I have the tendency to leave some of it on the back foot. My transition move is to simply shift my weight over to my left foot. I sometimes will rush this transition move which will see me starting down with my arms. I'M currently working to keep this in check. I still had a good session despite some faults.

On another note I have been studying the swings of Hogan and Knudson. While watching these two greats on film I was amazed on how well they both post up on their left side. It is a great thing to watch and I'M thinking perhaps a more of an aggressive push off the right foot might do the trick for me as to getting all of my weight on to my left side and posting up nicely. Anyway the work continues……….

This is how I practice on the range unfortunately I never take it to the course. I only hit directly to the poles when hitting wedges, short and long irons. Everything else, I try to play the course in my mind and curve shots accordingly. Wish I could take all of it to the course.
