Srixon i701 Tours **SOLD**

I have a slightly used (< 5 rounds) set of Srixon i-701 tour irons 3-pw with stiff flex KBS Tour shafts. At 6'2", the irons shaft length run a bit too small for me. 5 iron is 37.5". I removed the original FST bands and spoke to a rep at KBS to confirm that the shafts are indeed KBS Tours. He sent me the correct shaft bands and I have yet to put them on.

Stiff Flex. From all of the posts on GolfWrx it seems that they play roughly to a 6.0 in PX with a way better feel. I agree on the feel, they are smooooth. But I was playing PX 7.0s that were an inch longer per iron.

So I got these clubs new from Golfsmith in December and they came with FST shaft bands. FST is the company that makes KBS shafts so there was a lot of discussion on these boards about what was really in these Srixons.[/size]

As it turns out (and thanks to a lot of leg work by Desaille) it was confirmed that these FSTs are in fact KBS Tour stiff shafts. He contacted [color="#1C2837"][size="2"]Eric at FST: [email protected] (Reference Srixon FST and Golfwrx - Charlie Kang) and gave him the serial # on the shaft that is laser etched in. Eric confirmed that the shafts were KBS tour, he was a bit confused as to why Golfsmith put FST bands on the clubs, and Eric was nice enough to send Desaille and myself KBS shaft bands.[/size][/color]

[size="3"][color="#1C2837"][size="2"]So these are real deal shafts in a very good players iron. The only problem for me is their length (5i=37.5") and the shaft flex (I play an X flex). If the clubs were a stronger flex I would just plug them to get the right length and slap some lead tape on to get the swing weight that I want. But to reshaft these irons would be a waste. They're great clubs for someone out there that takes a smooth swing and doesn't swing like a gorilla. [/size][/color][/size]

I paid 350 including tax and shipping (not even knowing i was getting KBS shafts!) and it was a great deal. But I must sell and I believe that $275 for a close to new set of sticks with GREAT shafts and forged player's heads is a very good deal.... [/size][/color][/size]

these are awsome stix. I got a set from golfsmith as well and replaced the FST stickers w/ KBS tour. Am planning to add 3/4" extensions as I play 1/2" over standard. Gr8 price.. they were $700 or so a year and half ago.
