Good Teachers in MA?

I've been considering taking my 1st lesson, but I am very wary of teachers, and know of none that are reasonable and proven.

I live in Easton, and for obvious reasons would prefer someone that is at least somewhat close, and of course they can't cost an arm and a leg.

 

Anyone have experience with Teachers in this area of the state?

Is there any other really good teachers? Both are not very close to me. I'm about 30 north of Boston near the Nashua, NH line.

GolfRite learning center was mentioned to me on another forum, they have a location in Bolton MA, and supposedly Hudson NH.
Skip and Brandon were mentioned.
I have no clue how good they are, but they charge $120hr, so not only are they too far away, but they are also far too expensive.

Check out Atkinson CC in Atkinson, NH as I have heard good things about their instructors.

Cavicchi is way overrated. Typical of many teachers that work for a brand (Harmon, Smith, Haney etc.). He is way to egotistical for my taste. I would recommend going to a GolfTEC. It's all about facts there, not philosophies. There are at least three in the greater Boston area. You won't be disappointed.

the problem i found with golftec, is you might get a different teacher every time and theyre not all PGA pros, which matter

Michael Harney, PGA pro at his father's course in Falmouth (Harney GC) got me from unable to break 110 to breaking 90 in one season. He's patient, knowledgeable, funny, and very reasonably priced.

i take lessons at a golftec and always schedule with the same pro. the idea of a different swing coach every time is an odd claim to make. simply schedule with the same pro based on mutual availability. i'm a visual learner and have responded very well to the golftec philosophy and teaching style.

OK Buddy, back to back posts with no info must mean something?


I wanna Thank everyone for their input, I didn't get a lesson last year, but at least I started an official HC, which is 14.2 as of the last score I posted(October maybe).
I'm considering lessons this year.... again, it's easier to consider lessons when you aren't spending a bunch on eqpt. or actually playing decent courses(don't need to tell ya it gets expensive really fast), and living around here right now, I'm not spending a ton of coin on golf!

Just went to their website, nearest is in Needham, which isn't TOO bad if it's at the right time of the day.
Brochures said $165 for the Evaluation (w/video etc).
It showed Sequential lesson as:
$42 – $73 per lesson
Note: Prices and services vary by market. Restrictions may apply.

What were your prices, what was included AFTER the "Evaluation", and where did you get your lessons?

Also shows "improvement plans and Lesson Programs for between $102-192 a month (OUCH)

Anyone at Pinehills GC

As a lefty my two choices are Rick DePamphilis in the north shore area and Rich Fisher in the Metrowest area. I currently learn under Rich Fisher due to geography and I am very very happy with my learnings and the work that we're doing together. I went to Rick Depamphilis when I had more time at work (working west coast hrs living on the east coast) but when my schedule changed and I moved from Brighton out to Metrowest, I just didn't have the time to drive an hour each way so I had to make a choice. In my eyes I chose well!
