Burner HT Driver, know anything about it???

Im looking at an 07' model of a burner driver and underneath the burner logo on the soul of driver it says"HT" in yellow letters it is a 10.5 (deg) club and not an HL. I cant find any information on this club. There is a whole seiries of fairways and hybrids with this marking in standard lofts as well.

If anyone knows any info about this club i need it.

I think it's a little older model than the 2007. In 2005, Taylor Made had an r7 10.5* driver with the Movable Weight Technology which was called the r7 Quad HT (for High Trajectory). In 2007, Taylor Made introduced the Burner HL (High Launch) which didn't have the loft on it but was 13*. I've owned both of them and with the right shaft, either is fine (if you like a high launching driver).

Check out Taylor Made's website. In the 'Golf Shop' section they have a place where you can search for 'Vintage' clubs. You'll find them both there if you search by year.

Its not a high launch driver, its marked as a 10.5* and it just came from taylormade brand new in the box with 10 others. We just cant figure out anything about them, same shaft as the 07 burner, wieght, and taylormade has no info on them either...

Sorry it took me a while to get back but here is a picture of it. It just clearly says HT on the sole and that is the only difference from the 07' Burner Model...

 

But what is the difference. It is a standard loft and weight, as well as swing weight.

This might be a club that was made for a place like Dick's or another sporting goods store. Kinda like the R7 Draw Irons or Burner Draw Driver?? To be honest this is an odd marking for a TM club...you said TM sent this directly to you with 10 other clubs. What else did they send?

They sent me the same drivers in 9.5 deg, as well as 3 woods and 5 woods with the same HT markings...

I think they might of had left over product from sporting goods line. These will not appear on their website, they are products "made for" certain stores is my best guess?

Also....why would they send you these?

I really and truly don't know my rep has no info about them, neither does anyone at TM staff support.... Its interesting i guess lol. I'm sure it will surface sometime down the road, they feel just like like a regular 07' burner with comparable stats with me behind the grip...

i saw these at Dicks on sunday and was baffled. Best thing i could think of was High Trajectory. honestly i have no idea. Isnt it possible to move weight lower and farther back to produce a higher ball flight? could this have been done here?

Rebadged '07 Burners made for Dick's and golf galaxy, nothing more, nothing less. There's also fairway woods and hybrids, as well as a new set of burner ht irons with combo sets available. The line was a huge success at Dick's initially, so it makes sense for both companies to keep it going. It's just going to fill a lower price point taylormade option.

Just for curiosity sake, do these have the same shafts as the 07 burners?

Yes, same shafts, but with the '09 Burner grips.
