I had a lesson a week ago and since then I haven't hit a ball solid! I'm so mixed up I have no idea what I'm doing.

Please take a look and see if you can help me out! I have a lesson scheduled in two weeks but I can't wait that long!

I am no expert...so please take this with a grain of salt...but you appear to have a lot of lower body motion. You get into a good position at the top and seem to make good contact...so it's probably no big deal. Just my .02

 

What's your ball flight like? What's your 7 iron distance?

Looks like you are moving your head back quite a bit. Look closely at the shutter on the window and watch how far your head moves back

Part of my instruction was to initiate my backswing with a hip turn. I took this a little to far, which resulted in too much lower body movement.

 

Another issue we addressed as doing the hip turn than bringing the club straight up. Attempting to do this resulted in me watching my backswing.

 

So I've basically taken it all back to step one.

 

Now I am trying to keep my head set, I do my turn all with the shoulders. I pay no attention to my hands or arms. It feels like the back of my left wrist is facing the ground but actually the club is near vertical.

 

The left arm has come up with several instructors. Some have harped on it others have let it be justified by saying that at contact my position was good and that my flip was after it was long gone. I am not sure which faction I agree with, but I will be keeping an eye on it.

Its only a wedge, but thats all I have room for in my apartment. I want to work on adding more turn it slowly, building it up piece by piece. I also want to try to keep my right elbow a little more tucked.

Its all about the Wiffle. I don't normally spend too much time outside of my apartment let alone work on my golf game, but I wanted to get some video.

LOL...when I watched the first batch of videos...all could think is "you're initiating your backswing with your hips"...turns out that's what the pro told you to do. damn, I suck.

Looks like you're on the right track from that last video and your follow up post. As others mentioned, the 2 things that really stood out in your first set of videos were the lateral head/upper body movement and large hip turn. In your apartment shot your setup and turn looked better to me as well, maybe because of the shorter club but it looked like you had better setup angles, more bend from the hips while keeping your back straight and your hips turned significantly less. After reading all the "X-factor" stuff I've been trying hard to limit my hip turn as well by keeping my left heel firmly on the ground during the iron backswing and making sure I do a lot of shoulder and torso stretches before I hit balls. Maybe some swing guru's here (and your instructor) will disagree with this but I've struggled with a similar looking upper body sway and an overly upright stance and swing (I'm 6'5) and hitting balls with my feet together and then with my feet very wide seems to help me get the feel for staying more centered during the swing.

 

I hit wiffle golf balls into the side of my garage almost every day :crazy: .

First of all, you do not look committed at address. Your legs need to be activated and your back needs to be straight with your butt out.

Next - Your head moves way too much. If you concentrate on rotating around a stationary head you will begin to hit the ball solid.

One more thing, on the backswing don't let the weight get to the outside of the right foot.

You lock your right leg during your backswing which is not good. You are rotating your hips to much on your backwing. Your right hand is too strong. You want to make a "V" between your index finger and thumb that should be pointing between your right shoulder and chin. Yours is outside your right shoulder. Also you have your chin buried in you chest which limits your shoulder turn on your backswing which makes you sway your upper body and lower body too much. Your second video is a little bit better though. These are just my thoughts on things that I noticed. Just so you know I am a PGA Apprentice so take it for what it is worth.
