Scratch EZ-1 irons

for high cappers?

I've been looking at Scratch irons lately, and after seeing so many great looking sets of irons, it's got interested in a set. I'm a high handi-capper and currently play G15 irons. I doubt a set of EZ-1's will be any easier to hit, but do how do think the two sets would compare? Could a high capper play these, or struggle to hit them? Thanks for reading.

I played em when I was a legit 20. I played them up until a couple of weeks ago, now that I'm in single digits. I recently went to AR-1's, and absolutely love those. EZ-1's are easy to hit. I've hit the G10's, G15's, and I liked the performance and feel of the EZ-1's more.

What is "high"?

Agreed. The EZ-1 irons are very easy to hit and very forgiving. There are several who have ordered EZ-1's in the long irons and AR-1's or SB-1's in the shorter irons.

I was a little hesitent to hit the AR-1's, but I gotta tell you, they are fun and easy to hit too. I now am considering the SB-1's ... for the trifecta! LOL

I am glad to hear that the EZ-1 irons could be managed by high-cappers like myself (17+). I am hoping that this summer I can get down to the Chattanooga facility for a fitting! What have you done with your EZ-1 irons now that you have moved on to the AR-1?

Anyone else swing the EZ-1 irons who is a higher handicap? Thanks

I'm a bogey golfer, too. You can play them. EZ-1 are very friendly and feel just as good as AR-1 in my opinion. I have 4-6 EZ-1 and 7-PW AR-1. Truthfully, I might've done better getting 7 and maybe even 8 EZ-1. 9 & PW AR-1 are definitely playable for a high handicapper; I find the PW head a little larger than preferred, actually. But anyway, I'd guess you could play EZ-1s with a minimal learning curve. They are the best feeling irons (EZ-1 and AR-1) you'll hit and cust service, as noted numerous times on this forum, is top notch. Also love the feel of the 1018 wedges. 8620 wedges, did not care for at all.

I have no problem with people eating but when your charging people $1500 for irons and they only cost you $200 to make thats a buffett my friend. This is why I bought Mizuno's instead, insane quality better feel and half the price.

I dunno how many people need .5" short and KBS Tour Stiff soft stepped. However, If I hit them ... I need to reshaft to KBS Tour Stiff .... I gained a lot of swing speed apparently ... Ever since hitting the AR-1's shot dispersion has tightened up. LOVE em.

Thanks for the input guys. Glad to hear I might could play them. Do I just need to send Scratch golf an email asking for a demo club? Sounds like the easiest thing to do.

Billy, let me know if you're still interested in trying SB-1's. I have 8,9, and PW sitting around collecting dust. I haven't been able to play much this season so they're not doing anything for me.
