Great American Golf Club, Texas

I've had the pleasure to play the Great American Golf Club, The new coure at the Tribute in The Colony,TX twice in the last couple of weeks. If you don't know about it The Tribute is the Greatest 18 links holes from Scotland. The new course is Turn of the Century golf in America. No concrete paths, paths are eco-friendly rock and gives it a very different visual. The course designed by Gary Stephenson with help from Justin Leonard is great. Having played most every good course in DFW, with a few exceptions. This is going to be one of the hardest tracks in the area. Lots of bunkers, Large greens but, small pin positions, and the Lake Lewisville on about half the holes. Can't wait for it to grow in all the way. With a terrible winter in DFW the back nine has had some issues. The front nine is great. The superintent came from the other course and I have no doubt he'll have this course in great condition like The Tribute use to be in. Thought I would contribute. Thanks

I thought it was called the "old" American Golf Club and was designed by Tripp Davis?

Anyway, you keep hearing great things about it by media and magazines, great news to hear a "regular guy" like all of us has given a positive review.

Those are some pretty crazy prices. I'll have to wait for a company outing or something.

Sorry about the screw up with the designer, Frisco Lakes next door threw me off, have played the course a couple times since. It's suppose to open July 1,but don't know if that's happening. As of last week the course is in great shape. Fairways are hard and fast and the greens are coming along.(Greens are the same grass as Frisco Lakes) Rough is growing in nicely and I can assure you the 140 some-odd bunkers will be easier to play from than the rough. Hope everyone get to play it.
