i will be in manchester with my mrs. for a friends wedding. 22-28 july and was wondering where to play and how much...and/or if any of u guys wanna join me...

A fiat 500 will not fit golf clubs in that easily. Try and get a bigger car, a Skoda fabia or something.

Manchester is in the middle of England so there are alot of places to go. To the west you have Liverpool (where i live) and that is the best stretch of links golf in the UK. Formby (hosted the Amateur championship last year), Southport, Royal Hoylake to name two but for a better description please see this link. However, these courses are expensive, over £90 a round but well, well worth it! Liverpool its about an hours dive from Manchester

Over to the East of Manchester there are some nice courses in Leeds,such as South Leeds GC - designed by Dr MacKenzie (Augusta), Also Moor Allerton in the same area is good. I used to live in the Leeds area also.

Also we have some good courses to the North West of Manchester with East Lancs being a great course and Pleasington near Blackpool.

In England we have a great scheme called 2-fore-1 which lets you play many courses at the price of 2 green fees for the price of one at selected courses with the 2-fore-1 vouchers, please see the attached website.

Mottram Hall - one of the De Vere hotel courses, and also over at Carden Park. I prefer Carden Park - v nice on the Jack Nicklaus designed course obviously named the Nicklaus Course.

Some courses Chester way like Wrexham GC also very nice!!! Leeds GC (used to be called Cobble Hall) is also very nice - Alaistair MacKenzie course!!! I second Moor Allerton - lovely course, and also Scarcroft which is besides Moor Allerton! The really good one is Alwoodley, another Alaistair MacKenzie course - still haven't managed to play there myself, and trying to find someone who's a member there to play with!! Lol!

PS: You need a bigger car than the 500 - it will only take a carry bag in the back seats, and your shoes and kit bag in the boot. That's all the space there is!

i played Mottram hall the other Week, i can get on for free. Whilst it was ok i would have felt robbed if i had paid the full green fee. ill got back in a few weeks to see if it is any better. The front 6 or so holes are uneventful and its not until the back 9 it gets interesting, 15 onwards are particularly good. Very windy when we went as well.

a course where its easy to join a friendly 2-3 ball...no big bets just for the first of round of drinks maybe
