Help with Mac NVG2 loft

I'm looking at the NVG2 Tour head, but I'm stuck on loft selection. Unfortunately, no one carries the tour head near me. I have managed to hit the regular version though.

 

I was launching the 9.5 in stiff at around 14 degrees with 3500 RPM. Swingspeed of 105ish, aggressive, but smooth swing. I was launching my previous driver fairly high and I'm looking at getting the ball flight down. The one problem that I'm having is that most reviews have said that the Tour head is lower launching. I'm kinda stuck between the 9 and 10 degree head right now.

 

Any help would be appreciated in deciding on one.

The tour head comes in both 10* and 10* HL (high launch) but it doesn't launch that much higher than the 10*...Hit 'em both and then decide....

I launch the 9* Tour very high but from what I have seen from conducting many demo days, the 10* tour is a great fit in reg flex for up to 100-105mph and the stiff for over 105mph. You will immediately notice a lower spin rate with the tour head and take note, the Reg flex Speeder is almost the exact weight and torque as the Stiff flex stock Quad action in the non tour version.

The numbers have shown from my demo days that very few people have gotten better results with the 9* Tour vs the 10* tour weather they are stiff or reg. Only the very high SS, low Hdcp player is getting better results with the 9*.

So is 9° the lowest loft? I would say go lower loft with a higher launching shaft if you want to get spin down and keep the launch angle up.

Golfer JR, What you suggest actually works the reverse. The head comes in an 8* but it is rarely sold due to todays fitting technology. This driver under robot testing should launch 2*-4* above static loft at 2200 rpm. Obviously everyone will vary from that with their own swings and angles of attack. With the right shaft, the 10* head should launch at 12-14* with less than 3000rpm which are numbers we all would love to achieve.

Appreciated. From the reviews that I've seen, I'd have to really be going at it hard to get the ball on the right trajectory. Am I right in assuming the Speeder shaft would be lower launching compared to the stock shaft in the regular head? Now time for the three greatest letters: P.U.D.

The Speeder is heavier and has less torque which would generally suggest a lower launch. We have a great PUD program for facilities that reach our booking program levels. Do you qualify?

How is the non "tour'? It was mentioned elsewhere that the non speeder QA shaft is based on the Vista Tour. I loved that shaft. What would you suggest to a low launch, high spin 100-104 SS?

 

Is the non tour square? At which lofts?

 

I would love to get the Tour 10*, but It will be 4th string. Unless I can get the Tour for $250 shipped I'm aiming for the non Tour.

Obvoiusly you have never stood over the 2006 MACTEC drivers because they are as traditional looking as anything on the market. If your only reason to post on this site is to bash then we don't need to hear from you.
